Bizarre santander 123 transactions

I paid my N Power final gas bill on my transfer to a new provider, EDF on a better rate, in the last few days by my Barclays' Debit Card. This is showing OK on my Barclays' account and in N Power. I also booked a Jet 2 return flight to Malaga, again by my Barclays Debit Card recently, again showing OK on Barclays and as paid via Jet 2.

Both amounts are also now showing as pending transactions at the exact same amounts to accounts in the North on my Santander 123. On a query to Santander I was told that this is nothing to worry about as they are only pending. What!!.

I don't blame Santander as the payments were made via the Barclays' 'Verified by Visa' system. Any info on what is going on would be much appreciated. I've requested a new 123 but not convinced this will solve the issue.

This seems so unlikely that I think you should go back and check that what you think you've seen is actually what you've seen. Even if you have in the past used your 123 card with both Npower and Jet2 is seems unlikely that both organisations would put through duplicate transactions on the same two cards. It's doubtful if there is any shared infrastructure where this could have happened given that the Barclays card is VISA and the 123 is Mastercard.

Did you use both cards for the transactions? The barclays and santander transactions should not link to each other
