Energy Saving Grants available to Landlord with empty property

Hi, I recently parted ways with some long term tenants and I am spending money on the house to get it into a decent state before re-letting it. I will get an electrician to carry out at least a partial (if not full) re-wire, a new bathroom suite will need to be put in, new flooring, the whole house re-decorating, a loft based positive air pressure unit to combat condensation, the list goes on.
In addition it is time for a new boiler and loft insulation (perhaps cavity wall insulation, although it looks like the walls may not have cavities).
I have seen grants available for boilers and insulation for tenants on benefits, but are there any available to a landlord with a currently empty property?

So, let me get this right. You want me to subsidise your void period and refurb? So that you can then no doubt charge a higher rental?

If your tenants were long term it's my guess that they may have paid you an income whilst they lived in the property...I think that is the best way to get the property renovated,by using some of the income you received....sometimes with hindsight rolling maintenance is also a good idea to consider.
There are grants available but they are for tenants not for LL''s...although I have always wondered if perhaps LL's should be able to contact local firms and see if they will install something below market price in return for a bit of publicity...along the lines of sponsored by....whatdo ya think??
although you may find that once you have done the refurb then you could also charge a higher rent to the next tenants.
In my opinion what you describe is work that needs to be carried out during a void period and is and should be funded by yourselffrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I would like to know if the government will pay me an equivalent rental income/grant for my properties so i dont need to deal with those pesky tenants and all their 'issues'.0 -
I would like to clarify, I am only enquiring about grants for a new boiler and insulation. I am fully aware that everything else that I listed will have to be paid for by myself.
In response to LEJC, I carried out repairs as they were needed, to cut a long story short, they were bad tenants with poor communication skills and I didn't want to spend money on improvements whilst they were there because it would just get mis-treated.0 -
If landlords could get free boilers, then we should all get them.
I can understand home owners on very low income getting help,but fail to see why tenants can get this help, as it is actually a freebie for the landlord.0
