Which network do you have with your mobile?
Some mobile provider allow tethering.
Also, it may worth ringing the hotel to ask if they have any signal black spot on mobile phone network.
That's what I was going to recommend as well as it may be there's no decent data coverage in the area in which case the idea is a no go or it may be one network is much better than the others which is clearly the one to go for.

Just a thought, can you get any signal at all in your accommodation? It may be worth asking and if there is a weak signal one of these, BT 610 Universal WiFi Range Extender N600, will boost the signal to a usable level and won't rely on a mobile signal.0
