Signing off JSA/Last payment

Hi, wondered if anyone knows anything about signing off JSA midweek and what it means for a last payment.

I start a new job on Thursday (23rd) so will be signing off tomorrow (22nd). Like most JSA claimants I get paid every two weeks (my last payment was last Friday), so i wouldn't due to receive my next until a week on Friday.

So i'm wondering if i sign off tomorrow, am i entitled to any money from the first three days of this week? If so, would i be paid the amount due on my normal 'pay day'?

It's not a big deal if i'm not entitled to anything, just curious to see how this sort of thing works?

Thanks.

The answer to the first question is Yes. Not sure about the second. It would seem to make sense that final payment would be released by closure of the claim, therefore payment hitting your account 3 days later.

If you call DWP tomorrow and sign off a final payment will be generated and since your signing off on a Wednesday the final payment would be in your bank account for Monday. If you go it through the job centre it might differ in the days.

Yes, you can ring up or sign and post the booklet back to the JCP. But best calling if you have time. You'll receive JSA & NI credits until tomorrow.
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.
