    Thanks for all the info.
Have you come to a decision then?

Personally, I think the 2 series Tourer is one of the ugliest cars BMW have ever made.

    Isn't it!

I remember when the BM brand was something with prestige.

Now it's just bland and their design team need a slap

No, we have not come to a decision yet. To be honest we are not particularly taken by the looks of the Active Tourer but my husband has to change his company car and we are trying to find something that will cost less BIK tax. We currently have a BMW 520D which we love. He can have another one of these but the tax starts to get nasty over the next three years and he does not do as many business miles any more. The 225XE over the 520D would save us a few thousand pounds over the next few years. Also going to have a look at the Golf GTE and the Hylander (I think that is correct!). We are not really that keen on the hybrids and mucking around charging but just exploring the options.

Better allow for losses in the charger. I don't know what they are but probably greater than 25 percent.

EV chargers are close to >90% efficient interns of delivering electricity from the grid into the battery.

I think your probably find once you drive an hybrid for the first time you quickly become obsessed by how long you can keep it in EV mode for. The electric motor is just so much more refined as a way to provide motion compared to a combustion engine.

Have you looked at the 330e, I believe BMW were doing good deals on them. If you really don't want a plug-in hybrid the Lexus micro-hybrid systems are about as good as it gets.

Hi, thanks for the info. Yes I have looked at the 330e but they are quoting such long lead times and we have to do something as car goes back in Sept. Also the cost of the lease on these has started to rise a little higher than the company normally accept.

How about the Mercedes C-class? They do a C350E hybrid which isn't too bad to lease as they have good residual value and the CO2 is 48g/km so in the lowest BIK band. I know a couple of people with them and they love them. More like your BMW?
