Help with Slater&Gordon/Admiral Car Insurance

Hi everyone,
I was recently involved in a crash at a roundabout whereby another driver went into the back of me as I was waiting to pull out. We exchanged details and went on our way, and I informed my insurer later that day what had happened. They passed me onto a company called Slater and Gordon who have been handling it on my behalf. S&G later told me that the other driver had admitted liability and that they'd be arranging me a hire car and sorting out the minor repairs to the back of my car.
My problem is with the other drivers insurers: Admiral, who seem to have passed their side onto Albany, who of course have mixed (to say the least) reviews on here. I received what can only be described as an intimidating phone call from them telling me I should sort my hire car through them, and that if I continued with S&G I might be billed for the cost of the hire car if it was above some kind of average hire car per day rate set by Admiral/Albany. I repeatedly told them S&G were handling it, and that they therefore have no reason to contact me personally, yet I got a letter off them a couple of days later too saying much the same thing.
I rang Slater and Gordon who assured me that the cost of the hire car wouldn't under any circumstance fall on me, and that if Admiral/Albany contacted me again not to say anything apart from to direct them to S&G. Still, the whole thing has got me spooked and worried that I'll end up with a daft hire car bill. Can anyone give advice or shed some light?
Thanks

Albany are trying it on with you. (To try and get you to use their not inexpensive hire car)
Albany and admiral do not set the hire car "average" at all!
Stick with your own accident management team!0 -
Bear in mind that if you were an Admiral customer, Albany would act in exactly the same way S&G are.0

Firstly, they shouldn't be contacting you if you have representation, if they call again, direct them to S&G.
If you don't have hire car organised, and Admiral have offered you their hire car services, they will only pay their hire costs if you were to go somewhere that has higher costs.
If the situation was the other way around, your insurer would act in the same way to third parties.0
