new vid clipps on net not working right try different browser firefox, opra,IE
i am not convinced it the graphic card not if every thing else is working right graphic wise on pc and it my bed time

Depends what you mean by "everything else graphic-wise".
I don't use the PC for gaming so i can't check how that would be affected.
Small images such as smilies appear to be OK (although the little rotating pic of Martin doesn't look quite right).
Basically, any photo image or video clip doesn't display properly (both stored files and on the net - ie anything which uses graphics resources).

Anyway, it's gone my bedtime too. Maybe the PC pixies will come in the middle of the night and fix the problem for me.

    Nighty night ;)

  • Is it only images you view on the 'net that are affected? What about if you preview a photo from your hard drive, is that OK?

Are you using an LCD or CRT monitor? Try unplugging the cable from PC-Monitor and plugging it back in (make sure any retaing screws/clips are fixed properly). I've had some very strange visual effects caused by a loose cable.

Think you may be spot on - looks like a dodgy connection.:p

I double checked the connections this morning before I switched on my PC and then the pics seem to be displayed OK (all bar the red colours which was rectified by a further fiddle with the cable at the PC end). It could be that the connector has a bent pin, but it seems more like the actual cable itself might have a slight break - either way, a new VGA cable should put it right. :T

The problem is, the fastening screws on the VGA cables are really fiddly for someone like me with my big sausage fingers!!!! As they're flush with the connector, it's hard to get your finger and thumb around them to tighten them properly, especially when they're plugged into the socket which restricts the access even further.
Anyway, thanks for all your input guys.
