Call Blocking with a split Landline

Hello. We have the main phone line split. One mounted phone downstair, one desktop phone upstairs. Both share the same line. Now we have a problem with Nuisance caller so want call blocking phones. I was looking at the BT2600 decor corded, but it won't mount on the wall. Also maybe change to the BT8600.

Now the question...If we got a BT2600 or BT8600 on the upstairs phone and left the old one mounted downstairs would the call blocking facility on the BT2600/BT8600 stop both phones from ringing? Or would the upstairs one stay silent and the old phone downstairs ring.

I have the BT8500 and also one old fixed phone on the same line. The old phone rings once before the call blocker kicks in.

My main BT8500 downstairs with the answer machine and one BT8500 additional phone upstairs ( no phone line as the extensions don't use a line .)
Neither will ring if blocked .

I've deliberately kept an old fashioned hard wired phone on the line as wireless handsets do not work when there is no mains power.

I live in a rural area and we frequently have power cuts, which means that none of the BT8500 system works at all.

I can live with the fixed phone ringing once!

Yes I installed one BT2600 and yes the other phone did ring once when a blocked number call in. Also find the whole menu layout of the phone a little more complicated than it needs to be.
