which npower smart meter?

The last one I questioned told me they will still come round so they can inspect the meter and ensure it hasn't been tampered with. On my particular visit, this seemed to consist of my readings being taken and perhaps a quick glance around the meters.

I know they still have to be checked for safety reasons. However if I knew the meter was sending them readings then I might not even bother answering the door to a meter reader, assuming they performed a miracle and actually came when we are in.
