how will a set aside ccj affect my credit report/score

is a ccj removed from the report when it is set aside or will it just say satisfied? when a ccj is set aside how much better will my score get or will it not make much difference as the ccj will still show on my report?

When a judgement is set aside, it essentially means the proceedings revert to the claim stage.

Therefore as there is at that point no valid judgement considered made, then it should not show on your credit file (If it already shows, it may take some time to be removed)

It will not be marked as satisfied at that stage becuase (a) there is no judgement to satisy and (b) that would be entirely false.

Who knows how good or worse your will be but no one not even lenders can see it, only you can see it.

    Hi happydaize

It's impossible (and for that matter fairly meaningless) to try to quantify the effect on your credit file of removing a CCJ - any "score" you have is not an absolute measure and is not used by lenders themselves. All that one can say with certainty is that removing the CCJ will improve your relative creditworthiness.

  • Hi
I've had a similar situation, a completely inaccurate CCJ. The judgement was set aside and they completely (and rightly) dropped the claim but it still appeared in my credit file which went from green to red and I began to get rejected for credit.
But there are more than one credit file companies.
I have contacted one, sent them the evidence from the courts and they have corrected my file - back to green. But as I check out my score here on Experian it still shows and I'm still in the red!
How long does it take to clear my file? Do I need to contact each company individually? How many are out there? Help

3 UK companies, Experian, Equifax and Call Credit.
There are free versions of the latter two -
Free version of Equifax - Clearscore
Free version of Call Credit - Noddle
MSE have just brought out a tool that gives your "score" which although meaningless and a moneymaking scam, it will give you an indication if very low that it is still there or if high more unlikely to be showing in there.
