Doncaster Airport Overstay Charges

Hello all, I am due to fly out from Doncaster on 4th August 2016 and should have returned on the 9th August 2016. Long stay booked for £27.99 (non changeable), no problems...

...until WizzAir changed the flight, I am now flying back on the 10th August 2016.

My questions are;
  1. Should I overstay
  2. Should I re book

The cost for overstaying is £30 for up to 24 hours, or £5 extra days or part thereafter? So if I overstay and leave the car park within 24 hours of my original time will I be charged £30 or £5??

http://www.robinhoodairport.com/car-parking/car-park-options/

If I re book the cheapest I can find (excl Meet & Greet) is £52.49 (+ the original £27.99 = £76.72 :( )

Any advice from travellers out there would be appreciated. I know the MSE in me is just to overstay, but I'm worried the costs will be more than the £30...but hoping it will only be the £5!

I'd ring up and ask them if you can extend the existing booking by a day, hopefully that would mean at most an extra £5.

Thanks, I've done that and they have said it won't let them do it...something about no spaces being available.

The operator did say that I could leave the car there and just pay the overstay. He quoted £30 as the rate Doncaster would charge, but I don't see why they also state the £5 part day thereafter?

Maybe, if it's within 24 hours it will be £5, if it's over 24 hours it would be £30? That would make sense, wouldn't it? Unless we have a major delay on the return we should be good for within 24 hours, so maybe I'll just take a risk :)

I read that as being a charge of £30 if you are up to 24 hours late, £35 for 24-48 hours late, £40 for 48-72 hours late, etc.

    I would say you'll be charged £30.

Have you considered contacting WhizAir and seeing if they would consider paying for the extra parking?
I know that it's unlikely to happen, but you may get lucky and find a helpful person who was willing to do this.

I know it doesn't help you now, but I always book for a day longer than I need just in case of a major delay, only costs about another 3 or 4 quid.

    Me three
£30 if you're not more than 24 hours late, £35 if you are up to 48 hours late etc
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

    1) 'The cost for overstaying is £30 for up to 24 hours'.That is perfectly clear and understandable to me. 2) 'or £5 extra days or part thereafter?' Can you please quote the whole of the sentence in which this phrase appears as it does not make grammatical sense to me as it stands. Is there a (?) in the text?

When you book in, show them the change of flight details, I would be surprised if they can't help you.
If there are no spaces what happens if you just overstay? I think you had a jobsworth.....

Can you not just do a separate, new booking for one night 9-10th in the same car park?

It might cause issues with automatic exit barriers, but you would have a booking that entitles you to be there so can't see why they wouldn't let you out.
