I've just tried playing a bbc iplayer program on my Windows 10 pc, and it said I needed Flash Player installed, and get it from here. I followed the link to the adobe site, and downloaded and installed Flash Player 22. Went back to bbc iplayer, and still get the same message. I've even re-booted my pc, but still get the same message.

Which browser are you using ?
If using Firefox make sure you also install the NPAPI version of flash.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
I get that regularly from the Beeb in spite of having the most up to date flash on all of the browsers that I use.
I usualy find that closing the browser and re-opening works to clear the fault.0 -
Make sure the browser add-on is enabled0

Never ever see the problem myself but I don't use Edge/IE.
You don't actually need flash for the beeb and can trick it into coughing the HTML5 version by changing the browser user agent string, for example in FF use useragent switcher.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

No. Still being asked to install flash player, after installing both, and re-starting browser.0

Sorted. Enabled Shockwave Flash (which I thought was something that was no longer recommended) and it's working. Thanks guys. Still confused though, sure I'd seen it somewhere that Shockwave flash should be disabled?0

^^ Yeah Firefox disables SWF because of Adobes long time inability to secure it's software, Mozilla probably got sick of people blaming Firefox when they got hacked via dodgy flash content.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
