Esta Problem

Hi all. Need some help if anyone can. We are traveling to Orlando in October and done our Esta for the first time ever in may. I done mine my wife's and daughter. However once I submitted I notice that I had put the wrong place of birth in for my daughter. I emailed u.s customs and after they got back to me they had cancelled my daughters one. So tonight I re done another one for her but I get towards the end and it wont except it and says, Unable to Process Application: Another application with this passport information already exists. How do I get round this? Tried emailing them but says up to 20 weeks for a answer!

Is your daughters def cancelled, have you checked

if it is, then i dont know how you get round it

Yeah definitely. It says authorization canceled. So re done but now says unpaid. So I click on update to work my way through to the payment step but just before It gets there I get Unable to Process Application: Another application with this passport information already exists!

Could you lose your daughter's passport?
Re-apply for a new one then get a new ESTA?

Yes I was thinking that! Although I did read on the esta site tonight this.


If you are receiving an Error Message that says "There is already an application with that passport number in the system" it is because you have applied previously and have a valid application with more than 30 days validity.
If any biographic information is not correct on the existing application, the application is not valid and you must click "continue" to proceed with the new application.

So not sure if that means I could reapply after 30 days?

It is not clear from your posts whether you have actually paid for your daughter's ESTA?
If you have not -(do you get 30 days to pay?) this could be the reason you are getting the error message.

I paid for the original one which has now been cancelled due to my error. On the new one which I want to re do for my daughter says unpaid. So I click on the update button to work my way though it to get to the payment bit but just before then that's when the error occurs!


I don't think there is anywhere else to pay it. Or am I wrong?

Surely it means if you click continue you can get a new one. I have almost certainly replaced an existing ESTA sometime in the past as I needed a new one.

It doesn't let me do it. I get to the part where you review all information and then to the verification bit which says, for verification purposes, please re-enter the following information, as shown on your ESTA-eligible passport. Passport Number, Issuing Country, Family Name and D.O.B. I fill them in and thats when I get my error message.
