Does anyone have any idea when right to buy for social housing tenants will actually come into being?
I see the Housing Bill has received royal assent but i cant find any practical details anywhere.

This looks like a copy and paste of a post from another newbie from a few months ago.
The answer is later this year. No exact date has been set.
I don't believe you can't find this information on google. A newbie who's only post is about a provocative subject and who vanishes 2 minutes after posting?0 -
Have you asked you HA?0

No longer the Housing Bill, now the Housing and Planning Act 2016 which you can find here.
The bit you are interested in is Part 4, Social Housing.
This gives power to the Secretary of State to pay for the cost of Right to Buy discounts for housing association tenants and to set criteria for home ownership.
Not sure how strong the political will on this one is although the government has stated that it will make an anouncement before the end of 2016.
How much funding there will be is another matter.
Also, don't forget that Housing Associations are not obliged to participate.0 -
Thanks for the (less paranoid) replies folks.
I wasn't aware that housing associations are under no obligation to even take part in the scheme.
It's all starting to sound a bit 'watered down' which is annoying as I've kind of been pinning a few hopes on this.0 -
this forum is far too cryptic for me.
i think i'll leave all you weirdo's to each other.
