Hypothetical Car Accident Question

Had a near miss in morrisons car park earlier today and wondered who would have been at fault. Scenario is this
I was about to pull out and turn right when the car in front and slightly to the left reversed almost at the same instant ( presumably to let someone out so they could have the space.
If I hadn't immediately braked I would have hit there back passenger door.
So who would have been at fault.
Ps
You can turn right or left from leaving the parking space.

Possibly 50/50. Clearly the car in front should not have reversed when it wasn't clear to do so, (obviously they didn't check their mirrors) but you should've been at a distance to be able to stop in time. If you had been stationary and they still reversed into you then they would be 100% at fault.0

I was stationery and moving a matter of possibly two foot forward. The car that reversed was stationery and possibly two foot ahead and two foot to the left.
Alls well that ends well as I braked but the car reversing wouldn't have been able to don't think they Evan seen me0 -

It went something like this
Car X
>
X me about to move forward and right
Car X reversed backwards just as I was pulling forwards0 -

Probably agree but annoying ( or would have been)
As you don't expect someone to reverse in a car park without checking to see if someone behind you was about to pull out0 -
We get it! Your scenario, had you continued and made contact would have resulted in a 50/50.SparkyMark123 wrote: »It went something like this

Why are you quoting and agreeing with yourself. StrangeSparkyMark123 wrote: »Probably agree but annoying ( or would have been)

Some wouldn't expect a car to pull out when they were reversing, so it works both ways.0 -
