Subscription with gift but gift not received - where do I stand?

I hope this is the right place to post, happy to delete if it isn't. But I was wondering if someone might be able to offer any insight or advice on my situation please.

Pretty minor one, but annoying nonetheless. I took out a subscription with Buy Suscriptions and they were offering a 12 month subscription with a gift on the magazine I regularly buy. It was a small annual saving and I really fancied the gift so happily signed up by direct debit. Money taken with no issues and the magazines continue to arrive on time, all good. However.. the gift did not arrive. It did say originally to wait 28 days, so after that time I called and was told it must have been lost in the post, so they re issued another to be sent. 28 days later... still nothing. I emailed this time and was told that even though I'd been told they'd send another gift out, they were actually out of stock so hadn't been dispatched until 2 weeks after my phone call. They asked me to wait a set amount of time again and report back if still no sign of the delivery... I dutifully waited and no parcel arrived. Seems incredibly strange because the magazines arrive with no problem, I replied via email to let them know and have heard nothing back since.

It's been around 3 months since the original parcel should have arrived. I'm disappointed because this was part of the subscription and was a big part of the reason that I signed up in the first place... however I appreciate it was a 'free gift' as such and it's quite a minor thing to moan about Is there anything at all I can do? Or is this just one of those things?
