Sanction

Hi everyone,
I write this with a degree of hatred in my heart as I feel that both myself and my partner have been unduly victimised.
I will explain the situation.....
Point 1) On the 5th Feb 2016 I failed to attend a work based interview, this being due to the fact I was being held awaiting sentencing at a Magistrates Court
Point 2) Doccumentation regarding to and supporting the above was submitted to the relevant departments
Point 3) At the time in question my relaionship with said (now) partner was one of purely friendhip as we were...............
a) Living 95 miles apart
b) On seperate claims
and
c) Were in no way acting as a couple or any situation which could be interpreted as being in the aformentioned status.
Subsequent to these facts the DWP has decided to sanction my partner for a situation which as far as I am concerned is not of her fault.
Any input regarding this would be appreciated
Colin

not sure what you're saying here.
has her single claim been sanctioned or are you now in a joint claim which has been sanctioned?0 -
Did you let the Jobcentre know in advance that you could not make the interview, presumably you were aware that you were to be sentenced on that date?0
-
What is the basis of the sanction? If I'm reading this correctly the sanction is against your partner, not against yourself.0

well that's clear. somebody got sanctioned for something.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

Quoted....
Did your partner have an appointment on the same day and fail to attend? Or do the DWP think that you were partners at the time and therefore should have been on a joint claim?0 -
Are you saying that since then you have started to claim as a couple and a sanction has been imposed on the claim? Why the delay in applying the sanction?0
