data recovery question

I'm trying to recover data from an accidentaly formatted external hard drive. I've tried a few programs, but the output file has no structure - just a huge folder with my files with new names in a random order. Are there any programs available that restore the files AND their names AND the previous folder structure?

I have had the same problem and the only that had worked was GET DATA BACK. it is free to see if it can pick your lost files up but you'll have to pay to be able to save the restored files onto your computer. Try and not do anything else on the formatted drive before recovering as anything that runs on the drive no matter how small or simple would reduce your chances of recovering the files.

In some cases this can recover the structure, but it depends on what has happened to the disk since it was reformatted.

You could try this data recovery software, however I think your problem is beyond a simple software recovery. You might want to consult a data recovery specialist. Most offer a diagnostic at no charge. Good luck.
