Company pension taken off after tax

Hi
Could anyone please advise?
My OH has his company pension contributions taken off after tax so I need to deduct this total from his P60 figure. Do I also need to deduct the tax relief? I am currently waiting for his annual pension statement so I can ring up child tax credits to renew as I know how much his employee pension contribution is (about £1800) but don't know how much the tax relief is.
Also, when I do ring up will they want me to send copies of the pension statement to prove the pension comes off after tax as they sent the renewal with his salary already on.
Hope this makes sense? Thanks in advance for any replies.

You can deduct the gross pension contributions.
There is a worksheet here that tells you - https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/503090/TC825_04_16_1.0.pdf
They don't initially ask for documentation but they could at any time if they wish to check his claim.0 -
Thanks very much Darksparkle, will read the link. So I don't deduct the tax relief then, just the £1,800, the form looks a bit confusing.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160
