Went to copy stuff from my desktop pc to a memory stick via Windows Explorer, dragged an item from the right-hand section to the left, but when I released the mouse's right-hand button, I got a pop-up box saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working".
There follows another box saying Windows is investigating, or something like that, then another box saying it's been repaired, or words to that effect. The screen then reverts to the desktop, and when I try again, I get the same rigmarole.
I've restarted the pc, switched it off completely and then switched it back on, left it off overnight, but still got the same problem.
Can any of you techies give me a solution please? The pc is running Win 7.

Is the memory stick empty? I'd reformat it (which will wipe any data on it) and try again.0

Check to see if you can copy the original file to a different directory

Sorry, I should maybe have said, I've tried just copying to the desktop, but the same message comes up. So that would suggest that the stick isn't the problem.David.0

Thanks for your help folks, but no success!
'Send to' and 'copy & paste' both came up with the same Windows Explorer message.
Did a system restore back to 14/6, but after it had done what it does, came up with a box saying that the system restore hadn't been carried out, with an error code, 0xc0000022David.0 -
Try this: type in cmd in search, right-click on cmd and click run as administrator; type in sfc /scannow (note space) and let it run, it takes about 30 - 40 mins. Then try again. If no go boot into safemode and try again for system restore. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

It has stopped working again, and nothing that's previously been suggested has succeeded. Any further suggestions?David.0
