Sat 18th/Sun 19th - what small DFW things will you do this weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning Gang
Well. Here we are at the weekend again. Have achieved quite a lot this week on the mission to rid our home of all items unwanted by us. A pair of trainers I found on a walk went for £18. A graphic novel £15 & 2 kids toys sold at the weekend for £9 & £15 both got posted off.
I listed another 16 items on thursday so fingers crossed for those. Oh and agreed a sale on my old handset for £25 through envirofone. Just waiting for the free envelope to post it off.
Cant do much more on the big debt slaying until the 25th now but planning to kick the debt under £1k then even if just by £1.
We havent had any further fox in our house incidents so that is good. Although MIL went to her doctors yesterday & was told to report straight to A&E so she spent last night in hospital. She didnt have a great night by the sounds of it. After FIL being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year this is all a bit of a worry.
Its so chilly and damp here this morning that Ive given in and put the washing in the tumble as the last load left to dry smelled musty.
Must get on wifh the day. Love to all.
Bob
P.S PF we crossed in the air. Estate agent came out but was leaving for holiday the next day and no one else seems to know about her thoughts prior to leaving..grrrr...her general top of mind remarks were that she didnt think it would take forever to get a new tenant, just a matter of getting the right person through the door. I just want that figure though. Back of a fag packet ££ I have around £5 to £10k worth of sellable kit in there from coffee machine to commercial dishwasher. So that is a known quanity at least." Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Hi June Jubilatants,
Thanks for the starter PF. Morning Bob and all who follow.
We are both still ill, that's been six days now, however we have a wee cheap plan for today. Can't sit on the sofa forever doing nothing.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* The Grand Prix of the Sea is being held on our coastline this weekend and it's free to watch so we'll be going down to watch the Powerboating and Jet Ski racing in a bit. DW can do some photogra-faffing and we might be able to get some photos in the press if we get lucky. Will drive 5 miles and then take the train for the last 5 as there'll be no parking down there. Sigh. Train tickets will be £1.80 each. Woo hoo! £1.60 each!
How about you folks?

Hi everyone
Happy weekend!
Hope everyone is keeping well.
I've had a busy few weeks. OH is still working the temp job (yipee!) so I've been using my lunch times to dog walk rather than post.Poor pooch hasn't been well so that was £110 to the vets this week that I wasn't expecting. YNAB made it all the easier to cope with though! It's amazing.
We're off to the in laws today (FIL is a budding chef so it will be like a gourmet 3 course meal for free) and then off on holiday on Tuesday.
Have looked for best travel money (mse deal voucher :T) and need to look for travel insurance too (will make sure we get half price cinema vouchers).
In other news - I cancelled all but one of my classes and then focussed on building up just that one class - have got 3 new students and one maybe! :T That's the class at full capacity now. I ran a 'buy before such and such a date' special offer and emailed to everyone who has ever been to one of my workshops. The 3 definites paid up front.
Right - I'll away (a wee Scottish phrase for you)

Evening all
Thanks for starting us off PF, nice to see you back
For me today:
Nice dog walk this morning as it wasn't raining for a change
Shopping at Mr S, didn't spend nearly enough to use one of the vouchers they keep sending me :rotfl:
Took some wine boxes from the area they leave them out for customers, for my ebay parcels, they are just the right size for most things - free packaging
Posted 2 ebay sales
Meals from stores
Home grown strawberries from my hanging baskets for pudding
Washing pegged out on line (well, just one dress to be honest, which had to be washed separately on a cold programme)
A load of ironing
Listed more things on ebay - no sales yet today though
Cleared dining room ready for Fathers Day meal tomorrow, which we are apparently cooking :rotfl:
Bit of paperwork for business
A couple of really boring surveys about brands - as if I care :rotfl:
Cleared a load of emails
Been invited to rejoin the postal survey :T
And that is it for today I think!0 -

Hi all, thanks PF for starting off. I know how you feel Legomum, good to see that you are trying to break out of the cycle.
- Bought fathers day things from home bargains, I usually buy something a lot bigger but we are having to tighten our belts. Think he was happy with his Star Wars t-shirt and chocolate.
- Getting very very frustrated!! Sold an old ipod on eBay but cant remember the passcode to reset to factory settings. Desperately want to post off so it doesn't affect my feedback. Will be trying all day today to google and finding a work around.
- Other than the ipod ebay sales seem a bit slow, think I might help my DD tidy her room a bit and see if there is anything lurking in there!!
- Going out for a father's day lunch today might persuade him to choose a company on vouchercloud so I can get a discount!! Going out for lunch as cheaper than dinner.
- Searched my market research and survey apps. Nothing available :-(
Keep up the good MS work everyone and Happy Father's Day to all the dads.Competition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -
Morning All
LegoMum nice to see you.sorry you've been low. I wonder if its connected to your poorly wrist?
Ally how are you and your OH now?
PF thanks
My MIL has been diagnosed with kidney stones. She went in Thursday and has been in a lot of pain. But they are allowing her home today then she has to attend clinic next week. Apparently they break them up with lasers??
Fathers day here has been low key but nice. We dont really buy presents anymore. Not for the adults anyway. But got OH a nice funny card as DSs lovely home made one was some how not put in his book bag, & I made eveeyone pancakes.
We are just assembling a few bits for a lunch out and then going to softplay. It will be DDs first time and I think she will love it. She has juat started to want to spend all her time standing holding on to things and can move around a little between furniture so it will be a nice break to not watch her like a hawk in case she falls and bangs her head.
Spending this weekend other than softplay has just been food and travel so not no spend but cheap.
Have good days everyone.
