£125 switch to Halifax

Dear All,

I have applied for the Halifax current account, successful and have completed the online form to switch my account from Lloyds.

In order to satisfy the terms to get the switch bonus, do I just need to set up 2 direct debits or do they have to be switched?

Thanks :)

Wouldn't want to give you incorrect information, so bear with me for 30 seconds while I pop along to their website and read the switching incentive T&Cs.

I can confirm that you need to do neither.

No need for DD as part of the switch, just that you agree to close your account as part of the switch.

You don't have to switch any DD if you have any.

    Thanks for your pointless sarcasm!

I actually did that at the point of filling in the form, however, on another part of their site it mentioned 2 direct debits so I wanted confirmation.

Let's all bow in your infinite wisdom!

Thank you, that is what the T&C's said as well but maybe it has been reading too many threads on here about 2 direct debits made me think I had seen it on the Halifax site as well.

Think YorkshireBoy could do with reading what you put as well and see if he/she can word their comments like you did!

Bit touchy, it's not rocket science.

I was actually going to comment on Yorkshire boys restraint as he's normally a lot more obviously critical of these issues where people don't appear to read the t and cs.

But lo and behold I did!

However, as we constantly read on here about people not getting the incentive or 2 DD's being bandied around, I thought it best check with those who have done this before!
