  • Hi Birdman, the contents of your OP are referring to what's known as "Range Trading". There's nothing wrong with this kind of trading providing you know how to do it and are aware of the possible pitfalls. I have successfully been doing this trading for some time. The hardest thing in setting up this system is finding companies in which the share price fluctuates like a sine wave or saw tooth in a flat or inclined mode consistently. It is laborious finding stocks that behave this way but eventually you will find some, hopefully with a decent spread between peak and trough of say 8%, thereby enabling you to realistically get a 4% range giving you a decent return. I have been happy to take a 3% profit and move on waiting for the share price to reach or breach my preset buying price
