I have been receiving phone calls at least 3 times a day several times a week from a company who know my name, post code and phone number (obviously) and state they are not trying to sell me anything and simply want 2 minutes of my time to answer a few questions.
They say the name of their company and all this information so quickly that I struggle to hear but I know its something to do with consumer opinions on household services, for example different washing machine brands etc.
It is always exactly the same script from men with a very strong foreign accent who talk at a hundred miles an hour, obviously trying to get in as many calls as possible. I am polite and happy to waste their time because I know whats coming 'so are you employed like me or happily retired?' I AM A STUDENT, to which they quickly slammed the phone down. I have told them over and over again, like I said sometimes 3/4 times a day, but they still continue to ring me even though I obviously do not fit their criteria.
Someone please tell me how I can stop this?? While I've been away at university my parents were answering these calls for me and even said I do not live there but still they continue to call. It must have been going on for at least 3 months now. Now that I am home it is driving me crazy and making me so frustrated. The times that I do shut them off at the start by saying I am a student so I know your not interested, they don't even let me finish my sentence as they've already hung up.
I remember at least a year ago answering a survey over the phone as it was a very polite English lady and all seemed above board, although I did say I was a student living with my parents so again don't know why she let me carry on. How do I now get out of it, especially when they don't even want my answers?!

If they are generating leads to sell to other companies, it isn't a genuine 'survey' and is simply a marketing call.
Make sure you are registered with TPS.
A Truecall box or a BT8500 Call Guardian handset will remove almost all unwelcome calls of whatever type.0 -
Caller display and stop answering them. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
