Insurance claims and dodgy body shops

Hi all

Can anyone offer any advice?

I had an accident on 9th May this year, not my fault but foreign trucker so still with MIB and no sign of an outcome anytime soon. My insurance co did the normal, sent me to an 'approved' repairer who is very bad indeed. Car was with them for two months, it has been back numerous times because they just couldn't get it right. Upshot being they spent 2K+ on a 7 year old motor and it still isn't right.

Anyway. still wrong and getting worse, wheels out of line, paint coming off, no seals, no welding on panels - I could go on and I am not prepared to take it back to same place again, my insurance co are sorry I am displeased and assure me that this has been passed to their engineers but they don't seem keen to talk to me. Now, I know that the car will never be quite the same as it was before the accident but it should be roadworthy and safe. My problem is that the contract must be between my insurance co and the garage so what can I do?

Sorry to go on but if anyone knows where I can get help/advice I would be very happy.

You can nominate your own repairers, just notify them of where you wish to take it.

We have some insurance repair co around the corner who are basically quantity over quality, never take our company vehicles there. Other ones are quite good, think you just got one of the bad ones.
