Class 2 nic

Just wondered as a is there a way we can receive our class 2 nic in the post and pay through business or even just pay it in 2 payments through the year out of my own account or does it have to be through self assessment at the end of the year? Thanks

You can make a payment to your self assessment at anytime and it will be held as a credit until a payment is due. While it will be set against tax due first, if you pay the amount of tax due then there will still be a credit to pay the class2 nic.

Alternatively, put the money away in a high interest current account and you will have the money when the payment is due.
