    Westie You are right its not great weather up here


    I have refrained from many of the gliches such as SD I need to use up what I have because we don't do lots of family/friends presents, we now tend to go out for meals now BUT I am missing the excitement of it all


    Minimal shopping as I am aiming to clear a freezer in August to get ready for events later in the year :)

    tbw.....I saw you looked at the link I posted regarding the tax on savings, and understand when you said you had to read it a few times, to get your head around it....so did I.

    Morning all :)

    Off into London today for a very special reason. There's an exhibition on at the V&A featuring work by the engineering firm my lovely dad used to work for. Hoping very much they will have stuff from some of the sites I used to be taken to as a little girl.

    HG have a lovely day in London and hope you find what you are looking for in the V&A ...I absolutely love it there and have been to several of their special exhibitions they have ..we were always taken there as children by our Parents and it holds lots of wonderful memories for me :T

    Thanks Juju - that does help my understanding. The main problem I have had is that I had no idea at all that there was a £5000 savings allowance ! With my 2 pensions I know I wS paying tax on a couple of thousand pounds over my personal allowance but I would still have had around £1000 left of the £5000 allowance. All my savings interest was paid after tax and I am now thinking that I should not have paid tax on all of the interest - I didn't claim any back cos I didn't know I could. And I wonder how many others have been caught out.
