So we were burgled early yesterday. All my cinema dettol receipts not processed cc, car keys house keys and purse. What a naff day. Not worth going through insurance to claim for locksmith etc as we will be hammered later this year with insurance hike. Sorry for rant
So sorry to hear this:eek:
I believe the cinema deal is back for online orders:)0 -
That seems a very targeted burglary....
make sure you cancel any credit cards or bank cards that might have been in your purse...it might also be an idea to change passwords and pin numbers in case they are able to get any information from the paperwork that was stolen.
goes without saying I assume you've had something done with your car locks too...I've heard of some cars that go missing several weeks after the keys to them....
not a nice experience being burgled.
Do you think we should change the locks of the car too? Would a steering wheel lock not be enough?
All this expense & violation of our property. Could have been worse but still , was relying on those cinema tickets too for the 6 weeks. My own fault i should have uploaded them.0 -

I have no idea how much changing the locks would cost but it might be worth finding out.
Again with steering locks they are a deterrent...but ultimately if someone wants to break one they usually can.
I think you possibly need to think about whether you believe your car keys were stolen with a motive in mind or whether its a case that they just happened to be on the bunch of keys and cant be easily linked to your car.
I have heard of cases where thieves have returned to a property after stealing keys and then loaded the stuff into the family car and driven off...I so hope that isn't the case for you ...but you do need to be vigilant and assess the risk for yourself.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Just got back from FarmFoods. Got some of the 39p sweets (not for me of course as diet started yesterday). Also saw aau's Fish' n'chips crisps at 3 packs for £1 the same as home bargains.
Oh and the milk has gone up from £1 to £1.20 for 2 x 2 ltr bottles
It has - I found this out the last time I went for some more milk at the weekend - but I figured that it still works out cheaper than £1.30 for 6 pints (or even 10% off that). So I still bought the milk, albeit after grumbling a little. Doubtless why they put the price up - as it makes more sense for them to be a little cheaper than elsewhere - thus it's still 'best' for us to buy from them - rather than be (from their POV) vastly underpriced. However, I'm looking at it rationally and most people in society do not shop this way.
I suspect many people (in society generally, not the minority sector of the population that uses this forum) don't think about the price of every item or go shopping around to try to obtain everything at the best place - indeed they probably don't know the price of most items - and people have limited time to check where is best. So, they tend to go to one place, hope for the best and end up overpaying on the vast majority of what they buy. The point therefore is that, sometimes, it makes sense for business to charge more than competitors, as most people won't know or won't shop at the cheapest place. This can then be coupled with a price guarantee to give people the 'reassurance' that they are getting best price, even if most people in fact aren't.0
