I've got £5.93:eek: of fillers, including Crunchy Nut, vs W:

    Kellogg's Crunchy Nut Cornflakes (750g)£3.14
ASDA Smartprice Strawberry Flavour Dessert Whip (44g)17p N/A across the board
ASDA Smartprice Cheese Slices (10 per pack - 170g)42p N/A across the board
ASDA Smartprice Cooking Bacon (500g)60p more than 10% cheaper than places it compares against
ASDA Smartprice Jaffa Cakes (12 per pack - 135g)35p Given that it doesn't compare against M (I now hope, if I'm using it on a W shop) - however Aldi may technically be more weight for the same price. I don't know what price Savers Jaffa Cakes are in M anymore:rotfl:. I still have stores with 35p SEL and that seems now to be more common - however I also have nearly half with 40p SEL.
[Strike]ASDA Smartprice Fish Fingers (10 per pack - 250g)60p[/Strike] Given that they no longer compare against T or M:(. In fact - cross it out! - vs S is now technically the place it should be as not 10% cheaper than 65p:eek:!
ASDA Smartprice Raspberry Ripple Mousse (6 per pack - 600ml)65p Pack sizes elsewhere are different or A is more than 10% cheaper. I hope they don't pick up some price for M now on weight adjustment and compare against 65p:rotfl:.

Also - Cream Crackers (300g)40p vs 40p, SP Maxi Towels (10) - are they on the APG yet? - SP Chocolate Mousse at 27p but lose previous 10% against T since A moved to different pack size and having to buy 6 mousses rather than 4 in a pack so paying them more overall. Lost 10% versus M since M put its price up a while ago.

Maybe SP Grapes (400g) - are grapes cheapest price per unit in A?

Hi mhoc it's not a pond in a park it's just a small lake in the nearby village of Gresford pictured below. There is only one pair of mandarins there but plenty of mallards etc .

One thing that annoys me are some monthly savers - some are continous but others only last a year so in month 12 they close and your money goes somewhere, you ring to set up a new one, make a note of the new number, you cancel the old standing order, you set up a new one, you make a note on the calender - why??. No reason why they can't all be continous with just one withdrawl per year ...

Nationwide are being really annoying. Firstly they had a loyalty saver but the savings rate dropped and dropped so now I don't use mine and it will eventually be closed.
They took over CHESHIRE building society a few years back where I had my very first monthly saver account but we were allowed to contine with the account with no changes. Until now that is. Well we knew it would not be forever but even so it came as a shock, firstly the interest rate is going down. Then in December it's being closed altogether.
Nationwide also had its own monthly saver which again is being closed in December. It is being replaced with a similar product, better rate but you are only allowed to save half the ammount.
So that's 3 of my nationwide accounts which will be closed by the end of the year.
It has taken decades to get to the point where I can save but now Nationwide don't want my money

ISAs I have no confidence with at all now, I was too late to the party to ever enjoy the good rates for these. I've just got an easy access one this year where bill money moves in and out of waiting for due dates.

Nationwide have a 2% one but its for 5 years which is far too long a commitment for just anyone ...

Oh mhoc I'm sure you will have a spreadsheet to deal with it and if it gets too much you will go and get muddy in the garden with some cats climbing up your legs :D :rotfl:

I'm a prime example of what you can't plan for. I had a plan.....bloody blown out of the water now  I will explore this with you further on Thursday :D I'm very proud of you for making the jump to actually meet us :D

I've been busy over the weekend and am making plans for a grand tour of the U.K. meeting my friends before I get incarcerated. Details to follow :D

My other task this afternoon was looking up hotel rates for a Saturday night stay in October - I've a horrible suspicion its half term week which could explain a lot. So I need to find the local authority website and check.
My first thoughts are that I would book a room I can cancel - so this is a joint dilemma - I have to remember to book a room at the optimum time and also remember to cancel if need be - copious calender and sticky note reminders needed.

Normally I've paid £39 - at worst it was £60  but the rates I've found so far have been around the £90 -£100 and above

So firstly I thought I might as well just book our normal premier inn for the room rate I can cancel and just keep fingers crossed. But the nice boutique hotels are not much more and these include breakfast. I just have to book one or the other if I can decide on which.

I did think about Accor happy Mondays as there are 3 accor hotels but these are unlikely for a Saturday night
I even wondered about airbandb or staying somewhere outside the city but then we would need taxi trips so not much of a saving ...

Perhaps it's just too far away yet and I should not start worrying until early August ...

I'm doing a bit of the updating. Completely irrelevant and of no interest at all - but that never stops me waffling;) - indeed my waffling always is about irrelevant topics but I'm waffling on now:rotfl: - I was incomplete before and have now found two that are notionally 'better' than all those I had before - their weight higher - and nothing like doing it piecemeal again as the Chicken Broth was newly found around mid-week:rotfl:. (To be fair to me though, it's possible some of these have only gone onto RTC later in the week and it may be that they are slowly discounting the range one by one - however, maybe not:rotfl:!)

There may be more still to be added, as I think I've gone another one from a further store - it may turn out to be a duplicate however, just to make sure I have it. Once the update is finished, that will be all the ones that I am aware of being on 11p RTC in M but I suspect there's more:rotfl:.

I very much like the idea of a grand tour, it sounds very regal :)

Yes I need A tick sheet to make sure everything is done especially as I am still battling with sky - Monday I have to go back into the arena with them. And then once that is sorted the annual debate with Admiral begins as to how much they think I should pay for car insurance and how much I think I want to pay :)

Yes cats, pulling up weeds and getting muddy up to the knees are the best stress relief :rotfl:

Other than sky and Admiral (they sound like 2 annoying yappy heel biters:)) Very stressful week coming up so lots of distractions needed - Thursday will be the fun bit - hopefully ;)

    Evening All,

Speaking of ale. I've just found a wombled receipt in my pocket from Friday night, checked it and have got a not too shabby £3.03 back, mainly thanks to this AvM comparison.

5x Brewdog Dead Pony Club Session Pale Ale (330ML) £10.00 £7.65

Never heard of this ale and with a name like that it doesn't sound too appetising. EDIT, ignore using with the trigger as Dead Pony is not in an offer.

There has been an RTC on 3 pack Pastry Cutters in M, although not good enough for me to mention (and still isn't really:rotfl:). There's two types of M Pastry Cutters (3) in M - of course, with both in a single store, they showed £1.50 SEL rather than any lower RTC and I couldn't be going to the trouble on this occasion of trying to find out which was which - there is BC ending 517672, blue packet, which I suspect to be £1.50 whilst BC ending 542858, green packet, is suspected to be the ones on £1 RTC. However it could be the other way around:rotfl:, or maybe the RTC has ended and all versions are now £1.50, whoever can tell?

This was the same store where I picked a lightbulb from the shelf, SEL £4.09 but marked with a cross, that I suspected to be cheaper than it really said. I took it to the till and was informed that it was £4.09. However, I found a pack of the same lightbulb at another store, only by chance by the SEL saying 50p RTC there, and took it to the SS and checked - and it scanned at 50p. Bit of a difference between £4.09 and 50p! I would never have known that the price I was given earlier was completely wrong, even if I try to check it, unless the offer is store-specific or there is some different version of the same lightbulb in different stores on different BCs. I didn't know to take the BC from the first store at that stage as I was told it was £4.09 (even though I had had enough to suspect that might have been incorrect) so I don't know whether the one in the store later on was the same BC or not. I'll come across the information later, as it was in a further store, and let you know what it is:rotfl:.

It came up, like the bin bags and other items did earlier, as "Leisure clearance" on the SS screen, so maybe there are more items in that area that M is discounting as RTC? There's also an "Impulse clearance" on that covers at least one (probably both or more if there's more) of the Kia-Ora squashes, the Cadbury's Fingers (non-More to Share packs), Maynard's Sports Mixture cartons and other extremely good items.

    Bartoline Multi Purpose Filler (450g)48p

So to a new entry - the item that was possibly wrongly removed from the list, probably over six months ago:rotfl:. This was in one of my stores and finally disappeared from there months ago. Journeys round numerous other stores since did not turn it up. However, I now have found one store that has a SEL for this product. I didn't see any stock and it's possible that the SEL has been there for literally months and never removed. Such things can happen - one store had 59p price on the Red Wine Vinegar, which may be a red herring making me think maybe it's going down in price, however I was told it was 71p (which I don't know whether I can trust or not) and it looks like the store may never have changed the SEL when this product went up from 59p to 71p months ago. If I see 59p more widely appearing on Red Wine, or other, Vinegar I will notice it - but, for now, I think it's probably 71p.

So, no stock of the Filler and it could be that it's gone. Really? From every one of the 500+ Ms? So, the search is on for anyone to tell me (they never do:rotfl:) whether they have this in their M. Nonetheless - I've had 'errant' SELs before - for example the Dental Cleansing Cream, I had just a SEL and no stock for that in one store at the time I visited months ago - and this was the first indication I'd had for months that caused me to put the item back onto the list (maybe it should never have been removed?) and the product itself, with stock, did turn up at another store later. So, maybe this SEL for the Bartoline is now a pointer that it is still in an M somewhere. Of course, if it's in your M, if you've already seen it, you may now wonder why I'm having so much trouble over it:rotfl:. I think the SEL I have is an indication M still has it somewhere.

    start a list.
    1. banana
    2. romaine lettuce (2 pack)

Or just going down the road of a banana and 10p sweets, small single veg. would be better than buying anything substantive and paying more.

Bananas vs W are not any good for me as they are N/A against W (W is fairtrade) and therefore lose the 10%. That said, I buy bananas to reach voucher amounts sometimes on non-APG shops of not enough items and so pay full price for the bananas on those shops anyway. But I just don't like switching the comp. over from vs W showing the price I've hopefully got and seeing that I've lost a comparison vs elsewhere. Maybe best not to look at the other comps.:rotfl:. (I just can't help myself looking:eek::rotfl:.)
