Also the very same set of double yellows at their other end happen to finish just before a ramped part of the pavement to allow prams/wheelchairs etc to cross the minor road. There's a school nearby, so at pick-up time, cars end up totally blocking the ramped bit, and also sit on the double yellows, often partially blocking her drive and narrowing road access in general. It gets me why people think it's perfectly ok to stop others from going in or out just so it's easier for them to pick up their children. It's not a timesaver, I've seen them there twenty minutes early just to grab these illegal spots. Mad.
Please do not get me started on the school runners - twice a day it's like being a prisoner in the house and if either of us have the bare faced cheek to ask someone to move, it's US that gets abuse back :mad:
We knew there was a school when we moved in. What we didn't realise is just how bad it really would be. There are single yellows all across but that doesn't mean anything apparently :mad:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. The maddening irony here is that once I got a ticket at midday in a half term with no other cars around!!
I was parked on DD's drive as they were out. I was expecting them back at some point, I was unsure when. Then I got a text saying they were at the end of the road and DGS was being sick in the car so if I was on the drive could I move so they could get him into the house quickly. So I reversed out, parked quickly in a legal spot the other side of that pavement ramp, then they pulled up on the drive and I ran past their car into the house to get a cloth and bowl. As I was running the tap, DD carried DGS in and told me I was being booked. I found a warden photographing my car saying that a bit of the back wheel was overlapping a bit of that ramped area. It's a hatchback so there weren't many inches in question. I explained what had happened but he said it was too late as he'd already entered it on his electronic thing and he was just getting the proof. So I had to stand there while he issued the ticket. He said if only I'd stayed in the car he'd have just informed me rather than booking me - so I actually think he saw me getting out as he arrived on the scene.
It went to appeal but I lost. £40 for 3 minutes and a few inches.
Why can't he visit at school time?“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

I am  for you - if they tried to do that to me, I certainly wouldn't be nice about it.
We did have a pcso hanging around one morning a while ago and it settled down for a couple of days but then was right back to normal again by the end of the week.
I have come home before to find a policeman (!!!) parked right across my drive  he's lucky I'd spotted his giveaway shirt and epaulettes and decided not to give hm and earful! He did move without question and then asked if I minded if he stayed marked across my drive as he was waiting for a truck to pick up an uninsured car.
The blue badge brigade do it as well going to the doctors across the road. I know it gives them reason to park on single yellows but not across my bloody driveway  one day, one of them will park across my drive to go to the doctors and get ambulanced out of there. I won't be responsible for how I get it moved :mad::mad:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Naebarric - can you give me a clue what garden centre it was. I desperately need some plants for my garden but don't want to pay full price of course! Went to dobbies today to have a look and there was quite a few marked up at a pound but they needed more than TLC!0

Afternoon all.
Hasn't it been a lovely day? Hope you all enjoyed it. I went out with mum to the Co op this afternoon as I needed coffee, and to get out of the house for a while. On the way back we stopped at a small local garden centre, just to browse you understand:rotfl:
They had a greenhouse laden with plants, some needing a bit of tlc, that were on an offer, fill a box for a fiver. Well you know me, couldn't resist, so found the biggest box in the stack they had kindly provided, and stuffed it full.
Have a look
Full price they would have cost about £35:eek:
I will find spaces for them, might be a bit of a struggle, but I will suceed:D

I really really think that when we get around to starting the garden, we are going to delegate this job to you.... your garden is wonderful xx100
