Good morning all, cloudy here but the sun is trying to break through. Still no rain here though.

Our tomatoes are way behind, really struggling this year. They are outdoors in growbags but they simply have barely made any attempt.

I have been potting up strawberry runners, want to change out the ones in the strawberry pot later this year as they are looking a little the worse for wear. And next year I shall have to nag early so we can actually get a bag of straw to put on the ground under the strawberry plants.

Really quite funny, we have the barbecue sitting on the patio near the blackcurrant bush. Since I pruned the blackcurrant (extremely pruned, ie pulled out all the dead wood I could find leaving one new shoot) strawberries have decided to grow around it. I kept checking the bushes and thinking I could have sworn there was more on them than that. Found a little stash of small strawberries, ripe and unripe, behind the barbecue, think it must be the mice :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Seriously though, some of those strawberries must have been massive for them :eek:

I got my second set of cinema tickets today. 12 days after applying.

Taking DH and our two girls to see ghostbusters on Saturday

Youngest dd (5) loves the original films and even has a slimer teddy! Hopefully she will like the new film too.

I'm so jealous of the strawberries QoC, you'll have to get jamming!

I might have to give up my allotment just can't find any time to get down there. I took 2 days off work and got a space cleared, planted some runners but didn't realise about protecting them from the wind so they got burnt and died. I then got a second lot planted (around 40 each time) and they all got eaten by slugs. I also planted 2 lots of french beans (I put 3 seeds in each hole), all eaten by slugs
I hope I'll be able to pick it up in a few years, or maybe the next place we live will have a veg plot, fingers crossed anyway
