I'm picking about 20 - 25 asparagus spears every day, they are delicious, so fresh. Lots of rhubarb, just picked the last of the purple sprouting broccoli. Planted 250 onions and today, 30 shallots that another plot holder gave me. Three types of peas are in as are lettuce and summer broccoli. The soft fruit appears very plentiful this years so looking forward to those ripening. Plenty of plumbs by the look of it, only had 4 last year! I have runner & french beans waiting to go in when I get help to put some posts up as had to relocate them this year after 10 years in the same place. Some of the tomatoes have flowers on and strawberries are starting to form.
Of course the weeds are thriving and looking very lush:mad:
It's so frustrating if the weather is great when I'm working and awful when I'm not. I'm so tempted to by a mantis but quite an outlay.
Happy gardening, I guess you have a lot of things in as well, are you growing at home or in lottie?:)

That sounds wonderful. The onions I planted in March are now the same size as my over wintering onions. I've got hundreds of them. Garlic is going to be an excellent crop this year too.

I thought about moving my beans bed but decided to give it another year. I could have the best year ever for strawbs looking at the amount of flowers.
I'm not growing lettuce this year. I get bags of it so cheap at whoopsy time that it's not worth it. Yes it tastes better but I'm on ages washing it for bugs:eek:

    Wonder how QoCs getting on:)

    Oh dear.....what's going on.......a new frying pan....ruined:o

Reminds me on the late 1960's or 70's when Dad used to do eashing up and came through with a sparkling frying pan saying 'I've got all that nasty black stuff off it, look'. Yes, Mam's first non-stick frying pan

Sorry about your dear friend Snap :(

Well done Rose :D:D We are all so proud of you. And loving the way the disaster of the water damage has turned into an exciting time

Thanks TM, did not know this

Neither did I but wish I'd read it last week. They posted a code for 10% off Laura Ashley which was working. I'd put the cushions in my basket and forgot to place the order. The next day they were up to full price and the code wouldn't work. I was more annoyed at myself for missing the discount but promptly forgot about it again.

The very next day I tried again and the code worked:T:T:T so it was rectified quickly.

I don't suppose anyone from Vouchercodes reads the thread:rotfl:

I often have trouble with the onions bolting. We are not allowed sheds on the lottie which is a shame and there are only 6 other plot holders so not as jolly as some places although there are 48 plots. People just find it too much hard work! Such a shame as some places have waiting lists of years.

I get some bolting but just break off the heads and use the outer bits of those onions first. I'm alone when I'm working and it's really quiet except for the horses in the field. They can frighten the life out of me when I'm lost in my thoughts. Don't know if I'd like other people around to be honest.

Can't believe you have so few people using the plots josie......there was talk in our village of ripping up the bowling green to use as an allotment...it never happened but there was a lot of support for it
