That is fantastic, did you have to call her with the news or did she find out online?

She found out online, and then text and called. :D

At least she can now relax and enjoy her time out in Canada now, well I say enjoy, they work long hours over there, doctor yesterday was doing a 24 hour shift.

I can relax too, no plane flights to find for an early return. :)

I think this is the theme for this week- waiting around for results ...

Firstly my sister tomorrow and her results

Then Errant son is waiting a call from his latest interview. He went off on Monday afternoon as the latest interview is near a forest with a good biking trial (at least he was not on the main road with its hazards and pot holes etc ...) So he stayed over night in his big van and went for his interview this morning - quite a long involved one and he got good vibes from it but you can never tell really ...
They are supposed to call him this afternoon but I think its more likely to be tomorrow.
This afternoon he came racing in the door, changed, made a sandwich and went straight out as they agency rang him on the way back so he had to pull in. He has a days work about 10 miles north of here about a 20 min drive, working until 10 tonight.
So I am going to be waiting for him to stroll in - that's going to be a blast from the past as its about 5 years now since we had people in the house rolling in at 10 at night :D

And then OH went to the docs, still not really adapted to the new meds and starting to go off kilter so he has been signed off.
Not sure what the plan of action is going to be over the next week unless the weather cheers up and we get some time out in the garden - I think OH is going to be numb with boredom by Friday :D

Errant son has another application to complete tomorrow - standard form that he has done before plus a personal statement so all very straightforward and it will only take an hour or so as its the same form as he has completed before.

    Afternoon all

Just had the first of a the annual series of discussions with sky :(

    we are paying now
    TV box sets £27.19
    Fibre unlimited £10
    line rental £10
    total £44.59

    after July
    TV £38
    Fibre £20
    line rental £18.99
    total £76.99

annoying having to pay any line rental when we rarely use the land line for any calls - only used twice this year.
Fibre, this is our first year and it is not brilliant, still very slow, 10 mb at best and we get a lot of line droppage
Never use the box sets but to get documentaries and history we have to have it as we have a HD TV

so we asked to be put through to customer retentions and after some discussion was offered 33% off the Tv and £5 off the fibre. They are keen to give you total prices but you need to ask for price breakdowns
    so now
    TV box set £25.46
    fibre unlimited £15
    line rental £18.99
    total £55.43

still more than £10 more than we are paying.
I asked her to save the quotes and I would get back to them, not sure how far more I can push things.
Last year it took me 4 phone calls to get the right price and even then it was not actioned on the account so I had some credits to make up for the problems we had

I suppose I am hoping for a bill under £50 but I think that might be too much to hope for

Cancel, and wait for them to call you.
