    Good morning all...

I'm up to Saturday morning reading back on the thread,so apologies if you don't get a mention on my first post!

I do hope everyone had a lovely Easter....

Rhos...read of your Son's accident ....gosh...I hope he's not too shaken and all is well....was that the lovely morris minor vintage car written off...I seem to recall one of your son's has one or something similar?

Picasso....You asked a question about sealing a wet room...umm...I love wet rooms, but only when they belong to someone else!
Sadly I have very little experience with them and tend to stick to traditional bathrooms in the rentals mainly for the reasons that wet rooms can very easily become havens for mould unless they are dried well between uses....and not everyone has the patience to clean and dry all over regularly...
My understanding is that before any sealant is used the area must be completely dry...I see no reason why a sealant can't be used round the edges of the floor to wall but I would check if you need a special one for wetrooms due to the amount of water that is likely to fall on the areas.

Do you have a spare tile ....if you do give that a few cleans with bleach or whatever cleaner you want to use and see how it handles it....I'm guessing you have something that is either slate or porous and I wouldnt always recommend abrasive cleaners on those....I have quite a bit of natural slate throughout the downstairs of our house and it's not the best thing for getting too wet....there are some good sealants again you can get but they are more for areas where they are not in a bathroom.
Sorry I can't be much help...but there are some good heads over on the diy threads who will certainly be able to answer your question....

On to my weekend....and spent most of yesterday sat on various motorways...own fault really but DS decided that he needed to go back to uni as there are a few things he needed to do before term resumes next week.....next time he wants to travel on a bank holiday remind me to tell him to take the megabus back!

toiletries...just the one out this week....a body spray...nothing in.

Off to continue the catch up...and still hoping for a little bit of sun this week for us all. x

Random pricing at McColls (an established one, not a new one):

    118 g Minstrels bag = £2.45

    130 g Minstrels bag = £1.00

Guess the 130g are being phased out...

Oh trashing around like a beached whale all night again, I think Ive had about 3 hours sleep, OH gave up the struggle and got up about 4.30 ...

At least its Tuesday - I like Tuesdays :j

You sound like I did a few years ago when I worried about everything. Thankfully it does get better. Take care

Bubbs, do you have different settings on your testing kit as you can vary how hard it goes in skin and you might need stronger setting. My friend Andrew was diagnosed Type 2 about 3 years ago and at first Steve loved doing the testing on him, coz it hurt lol. But he does it himself now and he sometimes has to do it two or three times to get enough blood even now. My other bestie Kit is Type 1 diabetic so has been testing and injecting all her life, so her finger tips are numb :(
I have it on highest :( i dont mind keeping doing it but they wont put the strips on repeat as they are "expensive" so if i am wasting 4/5 every go not going to have many left as you only get 50 in a pot:o
Could this be done elsewhere on the body?
    No

bubbs, your thumbs may be easier than finger tips.

Saw some little kid at the self service at sainsbob tiny store, in tears because he was 50p short on his shopping. Gave him the 50p but he refused it. So I just put the 50p down next to him and left. Next thing is his father is marching into the shop calling him an idiot as the 50p is on the counter!

Not supposed to use our thumbs:o

DI...What a lovely treat to give us...a pic of the beautiful Isla x

...thank you too to tweets for the pic of our lovely poppy wishing us happy easter and who can fail but not love the handsome Oz either....

Snap...I truly hope your Dad is responding to the antibiotics and will soon be feeling a little more comfortable...Infections of the "water" variety can be bad at any time but in the elderly they really do need careful monitoring...all the best to him x

I have a list of things to do that seems endless today...but I shall start it soon...but not until I've had a cup of tea and a bit of easter egg.

We came through S yesterday..their rather large stock of eggs were reduced to half price...I picked up a few of the small oreo bits and bobs, but in honesty there wasn't a lot that took my fancy.

Please can I ask has anyone ever used kitchen cupboard paint?

Ive just been looking at pics of someones standard 1980s pine doors kitchen which they have done with this paint and it looked very neat.
They said it had only cost them £20 - well I've just had a count and there are 12 big doors and 12 drawer fronts plus plinths so it would be a much bigger job for us to do 2 coats.

Ive looked on the Wilko website and it seems to be satin finish. Is this OK for kitchen use for washing down?

Also do you need to use primer and what sort of brushes or are small rollers better for the middle sections?

Our kitchen is so ancient now but the door fronts are solid pine, looking very much the worst for wear now. If we replaced the entire kitchen it would have to be the same layout as its a galley kitchen so no room for revamping. Whatever we spent would not make any difference to the selling price of the house. Plus whoever comes along next the first thing they would do would be kitchen removal :D

(Yes, I am finding my own distraction technique and yes it would depend on a week of good weather for painting outside in the garden :)
