Altojack - you could still stay with Aviva but go through topcashback/quidco for the extra cashback!

There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Night all. Remembered I'd decided to check if an IKEA glass top would fit my chest of drawers (been intending to have one cut for years) and it does. In fact it projects back to the wall over the skirting board so things can no longer fall down the back. So I had a meal this evening and bought packs of cashew nuts. 5p to pay at the till. Very grateful to all who helped with this.0

I didn't the no you could do this either. And usually when you get the renewal quote at the end of your year the prices go up so you were very lucky to get a reduction. I have us the same company for several years but always renew for a different policy holder and the price is always lower that way.ELITE 5:2

For us, being sure we have adequate insurance in place is paramount. With this in mind we look at the following options:
If we are flying with BA (and nine times out of ten we are as we like the avios scheme), it's always worth comparing the cost of flights only with flydrive. BA flydrives come with an Avis car and have all the necessary insurance. We did this for our most recent trip in January and once cashback from Quidco had been taken into account, we paid only £20 more for a flydrive than we would have done for flights only. Flydrive has the added benefit of being classed as a package, so you only need to pay a deposit up front, with the balance due x weeks before travel (sorry, can't remember how many weeks)
Next option is to look at Alamo Brits (must be the Brits site, not just regular Alamo). The advantage with this is that if the price drops after you book, you can cancel and rebook at the lower price - you just need to go into your booking, where there is an option to amend it. Again all the insurance you need is included.
The last option we look at is Hertz as DH is a gold card holder, which is actually nothing special as anyone can apply. You can set all your preferences on their website to ensure you get the coverage you require. Rarely the cheapest option for us these days but they do occasionally email us some good offers.
If you are staying onsite, another option would be to get the Magical Express from MCO, then pick up your car the following day (or later into your stay). With Alamo Brits you can book a car to be collected from the Disney Car Care Centre, which is near the Magic Kingdom. Just let the front desk at your hotel know the day before and they will arrange transport for you to go and pick the car up.
If you don't intend driving off site, the Disney buses are great. I'd say most of them have room for two wheelchairs/EVCs, and these ALWAYS get priority boarding over everyone else. During the day I don't think you'd have any problems and coming back from the parks in the evening the buses are pretty frequent, so at worst you might have to wait for the next one. If the dispatchers know there are disabled guests waiting they can radio for buses too. Using Disney transport onsite and Uber if you want to venture elsewhere might work?
Hope that's helpful, but please shout if there's any more you want to know. Also have a look on the Dibb forum, particularly the Transportation and the Special Needs sections. There's loads of information there and they are a friendly bunch if you have any questions.
Thanks. The main thing I have found out from the dibble and various fb groups I am on is to use a Alamo brits but wasn't sure if I would get stung at collection for more insurance costs. It's years since I have been the one booking the car. We used to go through ba I think and prefer alamo. Like I say I don't want to get there and find they want more money.
As dd had already booked holiday before I said I would come and her oh hates driving over there they have use booked on magic bus from airport declining the car. As disney guests I have been told we don't pay parking at parks and could prove handy if I want to meet them half way through the day.
I will look at alamo brits again as their prices seemed so good I thought I would have more to pay.

As you've been talking of butternut squash tonight, I thought you might like my tea from earlier. Green leaf salad with roasted slices of butternut squash, peel still on
I just sprayed with frylight sunflower oil and sprinkled with Italian herbs, roasted for 25/30 mins in airfrier, then arranged on the salad leaves in bowl, and added crushed nuts to top of each slice for my protein, and had pretty tomatoes, cucumber, pepper in centre. Oh and a squirt of dairy free sour cream under each slice of squash
And it was yummy:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Well I'm off to bed now. Got dentist again at 10.45am to fit partial denture, dietician/fitness guru at surgery at 3pm, and then nurse led GP appointment at 5.05pm for meds review plus talk about this persistant nerve pain I'm getting. Will go to dentist and pop back home, then out again for other two appointments, doing shopping and other messages in between
