I did ask yesterday, please has anybody got any ideas about mobile sim cards for Canada. Me and DD don't have a clue. :o Need a good deal as she will be there 2 months, what do other people's offspring do when they go on their travels?

My sons who both travel a lot just use WhatsApp when they are away. One is in New Zealand at the moment and the other is in Russia.HTH

Dive in and out of starbucks - or wherever else offers free wifi.
Just buy a sim once she's in the country. Thats what my brother generally does (he did in NZ) then ditch the sim when travel is over. Usually works out cheaper. I'm sure she can pass on her temporary new number to important people.

That also is a good plan, but check the phone is unlocked to take any SIM.

Ideally you need to leave off diary products for 24 hours.

Sometimes a couple of imodium tablets will sort things out.

Change in habits for 3 weeks means a doctor's visit is required.

There's a story behind the feathers and I can't remember what it is. I think they were never reinstated when the statue was taken away to be repaired.

and it shows the box the policemen used to stand in to direct traffic!
(Not the wooden one in the middle of the picture, the thing on the right near the front of the bus).
You had to do hand signals inside the car to let them know which direction you wanted to go in.

Another trivial fact, Durham had a congestion charge before London.

    The legend of the tongue....
    A MAN ON A HORSE
Neptune's equestrian neighbour in full view of the Town Hall and church is the elecroplated-copper statue of the 3rd Marquess of Londonderry. Unveiled on December 2nd 1861it depicts the Marquess on horseback in grand hussar uniform. The 3rd marquess owned collieries in the vicinity of Durham but is principally famous as the builder of the Durham coal port of Seaham Harbour which he founded in 1828 as a rival to Sunderland.
The Marquess of Londonderry's full name was Charles William Vane Tempest Stewart. The sculptor of Londonderry's statue was Signor Raphael Monti (1818-1881) who did not, as is often thought commit suicide following the discovery of a flaw in his creation by a blind beggar man. Legend has it that Monti boasted that no one could find fault with his statue until one day a blind man pointed out that the horse had no tongue by feeling inside its mouth. The legend - is a legend.
