I knew it was a risk and have been saying to DD that I didn't think he could hear very well. Do you think they would give him a temporary hearing aid and does bone anchored mean its fixed to the head?

He could have a temporary aid once the extent of the hearing loss becomes apparent - some trusts will do it at this stage and others choose to wait. It's worth asking. It could be that his loss is so severe that a conventional aid is unlikely to be of any benefit to him at all. Bone anchored is an inside thing with an abutment on the outside

Loving your gorgeous Granddaughter Di :)
Update on DD2's new car. Hubby is travelling to Essex today with the new car on a trailer so he can bring the old one back to scrap. All she has to do is phone her insurance and tax it (£30). It will take between 4 and 5 hours each way depending on the traffic:eek: He has instructions to wave to bubbs and various other elite along the way, M6, M1 & M25 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I saw him and waved back:rotfl::rotfl:

My emotional ties with the house are strong as I have been there 35 years plus. Yes hotel is nice but its not home. Skip has just been delivered and damp chap called as surveyor did not include 2nd bedroom in the quote and emailed me and the gist of it was existing damp is not covered. I emailed him back and said we had a new damp course 12 years ago and there is was no existing damp. But the damp man said he will go in and take a pic of the damp meter against the wall so when they come back and ask he will have proof.

What was your son's job before he lost it. And have you met his new wife. Is it a love match or do you think otherwise ( ie visa! )
How old is he? And as for the parent /son bond sometimes its broken for ever.
My OH managed to rebuild his relationship with his daughter and they are partners in crime now as he is retired and she is home with the baby. But relationship with his son is not the same. He gets envious that DS calls me all the time and only calls him if I am unavailable. I remind him that all the years they were growing up he was not there so what does he expect. Sad but true.
However DD is about to have some more therapy as she is struggling with her eating and her hair is falling out again.
Sorry your dd is struggling again, but at least she has realised:T

Mhoc...thank you...I think you have kept me going today....and I really am grateful.

I know we are on completely different wavelengths over returners to the nest but as they say opposites attract and whilst I know you are not looking forward to having him home......I can't wait for the clutter and mess that Saturday will bring when our DS decamps back for the Easter holidays!
Hope you have fantastic time with your DS xx

Remember if you are order V1king to go through QC first (5%) or TCB (7%) - in theory QC should highest price guarantee taking it to 9% (double the difference) but will report back as I have submitted a claim.

    Anon

Do they do double the difference? I thought they bettered by 1% (as in if qc are 2% tcb will do 2.02%)
