So there we are, an admission I was half-hearted on the Doritos multipacks. (I bet I'm half-hearted on the Ritz Bakefuls as well - M probably got the Cheese one somewhere.) It's those £1 prices that are, really, too high for me to take much interest in! I am going to bed now.:) Tomorrow is collection day and hopefully I will try better on the Doritos this time:rotfl:.

    See you later:wave:.

DAB has been a longstanding bugbear for me, whereby vested interests get us to switch to something with no discernible benefits to us doing so (IMO). It serves the interests of manufacturers of DAB sets, when the old system worked perfectly and did not need changing. With FM, with a really good radio set, you can pick up lots of stations regardless of whether they are in best quality or not. With DAB however, you either get a station or you do not. This reduces the number of stations from other areas you can receive (albeit that multiplexes might have more on nearby transmitters now) and therefore reduces listener choice...zzzz...:rotfl:. Not that we have any choice, with the same diet of popular music on every channel. DAB is said to be of better quality, however I have never been convinced of that - if you got your nearest station in very good FM quality, I think you would hardly notice any difference (it's perfectly fine enough for me) and, in some respects, I think the quality of the reception with DAB is diminished. In addition, you know how, with digital television, my countdown at the New Year is now ruined as the broadcasting is not received completely live but, on digital, is about four seconds delayed. For a person like me, who works with exactness and accuracy, with a radio-controlled clock (there is only one accurate time), it does matter (in the sense that I notice it, I don't get really stressed about it or anything but...) - the New Year chimes are delayed and are not counting down accurately and I have to revert to Radio 4 analogue now as the audio to get the New Year at the right time!

I am happy with FM radio, it works fine and stays on without buffering like DAB, only listen to Heart, even though kids like Capital, but that one can only get in certain areas :rotfl::rotfl:

Exactly. There was no need ever to change it. Fortunately they haven't had enough people taking up DAB to set a switch-over date for it and I think it has been pushed back a number of times. I've lost track anyway, as I am out of the loop and no longer follow this early 1990s specialist interest.

I would be happy with FM radio, if only it were the FM radio, with the same music, of twenty years ago - unfortunately it has all changed to a style of pop music that I don't like but that's a different matter, about musical tastes, and I no longer really listen to the radio. (I say "really" as it is surprising what you actually do listen to - I maybe catch up, online, with the news (sometimes every hour for a few hours - and, in total, that's more than 5 minutes a week so would qualify as a "radio listener"). Even though, I don't really listen to radio at all these days - but maybe I do... if I am in the car, recently, I have listened, mainly to mostly-speech BBC local radio (I am getting old!), but for the traffic news. Actually, I've done very well on that - I made two recent trips this year to Manchester stores and, on one day, I looked at the traffic before I went and chose motorway X to avoid the traffic accident that had happened on the other way in. This time, I was out and about and just so happened to put the traffic news on (I rarely do - it was fortuitous!) and was told there was a long queue on my motorway, but in the opposite direction:T, I know - I love it when you are all travelling the other way to me and are stuck:p:rotfl::( - so I had no problem:p:p - na, na, na, na, na - I am being immature - I do not mean it:cool: - but that it was backing up to affect Motorway X, which I took last time, so I went the Motorway Y way and circled the other direction and missed the traffic again:D:T:rotfl:. So, I've been helped on two occasions - one forward planning before I set out, the other by initially BBC Radio Merseyside and then Radio Manchester telling me, in effect, to take the road where the traffic accident had made that a very much delayed route a few weeks earlier.)

Hard to believe maybe, but yes - I do get tired from time to time, just like the rest of people, and I could have thrown my hands in the air at several stores in the meantime looking in vain for other multipack Doritos until I eventually found one in a later store but I guess there were more important items at the time and limited time so, yeah, sorry, I couldn't really be bothered with £1 6-pack Doritos much at the time and didn't really make the effort:o:rotfl:. It was late at night, that's one of my excuses anyway. I'll try again tomorrow - maybe I will be more invigorated early on in the day (although usually that's my worse time:rotfl:).

Actually, I had a store with world foods - it was my only store that day with that range - and happened to have the store that had full prices on every item. Nearly the entire aisle was wrong (must have recently moved the aisle to that place in the store and had initially full prices) - all I could do was take three of the items that I had on mbuy to see if they still were and check the other later on msm. They were on mbuy and fortunately I already knew what the prices were going to be of the other items and I don't think they would have changed that week. I do hope my store tomorrow is good - it should be! - as I am expecting changes - even though, my choice of store is one with a much wider range but has lost a set of items recently:( although I have one of my other stores tomorrow will, I very much hope, continue to have the range that has gone from my otherwise large-range store. You are missing out on a post I lost earlier in the week, and have not bothered to attempt to rewrite, so this is not making much sense. However - swiftly moving to another product range - I think it was as I suggested earlier - the Heinz/Hellmann's RTC products, by last week, were effectively unlikely to be picked up on the APG I feel - as I did find some of them but, as predicted, I only found them in a store that had moved them to the RTC shelf (which I don't think the APG checks but I could be wrong - I think they check only main aisles, including any RTC items that appear there) - note also that I had only some of them now, so it's likely to have gone N/A on some anyway - I think probably all of them due to not being on main aisles anymore - even though all of them will - if my one in eight stores is any guide - still be somewhere (random ones in maybe 10-20 stores nationwide that, together, add up to the full range). Sorry, this is trying to mention something that was in my lost post but, inevitably, it's never written very well the second time around. And I'm not trying hard enough anyway:rotfl:. It's late at night!

But basically, I'm saying it was as I thought it would be - some products only in stores where they happened to have been moved to an RTC shelf - main aisle stock sold out elsewhere and now no evidence of it, as people wanting those items obviously go to the aisles and buy them and people not looking at RTC shelves for items about which they are unaware - location, positioning is everything. It was the same situation on the Paul Hollywood bread mixes the other week - now only in a store (a different one) where those have been moved to the RTC shelf and 20-odd stores beforehand then (two weeks ago) complete no trace.

I had lots of Alberto triple pack Cheese & Tomato pizzas last time - at least 42 boxes across two stores:rotfl:! It seems they have not produced a SEL for those - I have not had any in stores I visited - so people think they are full price maybe and are not buying them. Downside was BB date was end of March, which is probably why they are being cleared - except that the stores have lots of stock as they have got no SEL! I think they are also £1 (for three 300g pizzas) as that was what I was told when I checked at the till some weeks ago. They gave me the RTC price, so I believe that. I also had quite a lot of 40p Poppin Chicken in another freezer in one of the stores (M Sheffield Halfway) - slightly better date on them of June 2017 - and I noticed that there was no SEL so that they may stay there until someone randomly picks them up, thinking they are £1 and they go through at 40p and they notice (I think unlikely they will notice as people generally tend not to do). Indeed, I think they might not put a SEL up as they are price marked £1 on the packs. However, I now understand that 600g Poppin Chicken is currently at £1 in A so this has overtaken M's version which now works out more expensive. Maybe someone who is nearby, in the southern part of Sheffield or far north-east Derbyshire, may find a lot of the pizzas around although this is now last Thursday.

    Bye for now folks:wave:.
