Check your policy wording for "matching items". If you have extended accidental damage cover you will normally be covered to replace matching units if part of your kitchen is damaged. Some policies will pay 50% for undamaged units.
I have accidental damage on the contents but not the buildings. I just had a read and it says I have the matching items included as its a fitted kitchen They spoke about removing the main part of the kitchen which includes the dishwasher cooker and washing machine. As the white goods are not fitted as such they come under contents and I do have accidental damage on that. On the other side of the kitchen I have one cupboard and a fitted breakfast bar. I was on the point of getting prices for the kitchen and bathroom replaced and in fact the bathroom price came today. What I would like to do is lose the fitted breakfast bar/table and have another run of units on that wall. Obviously I will probably have to pay towards extra ones. My kitchen was a very expensive Italian one but it is 30 years old now.0 -

Indeed. Remember at the end of the day the insurance is supposed to put you back in the position you were in before your loss. Presumably you were happy with your kitchen before the loss, rose. If you are not happy with
it when they have finished, argue until you are.
I actually hate my kitchen and would be glad if it was changed. The floor however is Amtico and it was very expensive. I said to OH today if they dont replace it I will either get a company in to give it a deep clean and polish or replace it.
The 2nd bedroom which is not damaged at all will be used as a storage room for when we empty all the other rooms although I am not sure where the settee etc will go. That room is going to be OH's room and the carpet in there is knackered but the walls only really need a bit of sanding and a couple of coats of paint to make it look good. OH says hes not bothered about the carpet but we will see what the rest looks like when its finished. My only other concern it the hall stairs landing and lounge is all the same carpet but I dont think the stair carpet got wet?0 -

DS2 needs temporary internet broadband for 2 weeks until the SKy - MSE package gets delivered.
Cheapest I've seen is a dongle pre-loaded with 2GB data for £14.99 from Currys, but the reviews aren't good.
Any ideas from you clever people?
If anyone has a phone with 1759327540254012751gb of data and only use about 300meg he could tether.0 -
