I think just to make things easy it might just be best to get the taxi from your hotel straight through to the port - otherwise you have to get yourself plus luggage from the hotel to southampton park way and then from central across to the taxi rank.
You will also make a taxi driver very happy - they much prefer pre booked longer trips
Im stopping at the premier inn at the airport, so walking distance from the train station (I hope!!). But yes, think a taxi is easier.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
