No vegan will drink milk, eat cheese or youghurt - to get that milk the calves are taken straight from their mother as soon as born. The female will be grown on for milk, the males if not killed straight away, with be quickly reared for veal, a short and cruel life. The cows have been so bred to produce more and more milk for human consumption, when it was meant for those poor calvesSunshinemummy wrote: »I used to be a strict vegan... no animal products at all including medication.
Then with my 3rd pregnancy I was told to eat eggs. Over the years animal products have slipped in... a coffee table that was salvaged had varnish on.... etc.
Then I hit the early stages of menopause.... and it all went out of the window and I have been eating anything dead ever since!
Last weekend OH came back with 2 leather sofas that were like new but his brother who has more money then sense was throwing them away.... they are flipping lovely!
I just noticed last week that two of my main medications contain lactose .... that's from milkSunshinemummy wrote: »For a few years I did not drink milk.... but then again I just ate veg/pulses/nuts. Then eggs/milk creeped in. But since eating meat I no longer worry about animals etc. I have adopted the view that if people did not eat meat there would be very few animals that would be born/enjoy life. It is amazing how my views have changed... but it has been over 30 years in the process.:D:D:D
As a meat eater I used to say that too, that we wouldn't have these animals if we didn't eat them. But having seen the horrific treatment that animals go through to get on our plates, I decided that I couldn't do other than try to be as vegan as possible. Many animal rescuers are vegan, and so I see so much information on FB from my dog rescue friends, that I could deny it no longer. Man is the animalMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

What a relief for you that Mr TM is home. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
I had an online chat with N earlier this afternoon. Apparently there's been a delay in adding points for the Virgin promotion and was told they will be showing on my account by tomorrow :T:happylove Nanny to 2 Cherubs :happylove0
