The NHS 'Think Pharmacy Minor Ailment Service' can potentially cut down a lot of visits to the GP.
Basically you go to the pharmacy/chemist with your problem if it is a minor ailment. Apparently it works in conjunction with your GP so if a prescription is needed, you can get it straightaway without visiting the actual GP.
Seems to be available everywhere, if you google your area, you'll see it.“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0 -

Dont know if it is different in other parts, but up here, it looks like you have to get free pescriptions to get this.
'If you are entitled to free prescriptions, you can access medicines for a range of common illnesses'
This makes no sense, if you work, they chances are you have to pay for your prescriptions. If you work, it is harder to find the time to go to the docs, so this could be useful, but you cant use it.
Edit: I might be reading that wrong, and everyone can get it.
But looking at the list, all the ailments they can deal with, you can buy over the counter stuff for.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

At least we now have people talking about the NHS and rethinking how best to use the services we have. Paracetamol is the perfect example.£10 cost if we get it on prescription. 20p from the supermarketTo do is to be. Rousseau
