Afternoon, hope you don't mind me asking a question. My son needs his Degree attesting/ Notarising to apply for a Z Visa to return to China (always the plan but the uni he worked for failed to renew his work permit in time) so he now has to start from scratch and the rules have changed to include having his Degree attested then stamped at the Consulate.
We're not sure who is allowed to do this even after googling! The banks notarise things for free if your a member but it seems they are not the right people! He had a quote from a Lawyer for £200  Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas, please? :)

I'm afraid that £200 is the going rate.

Try here to shop around: http://www.thenotariessociety.org.uk/

Someone on this thread has suggested that you may be able to get it done at the county court. Not sure how accurate the information is though. I've always used a professional notary public.

There's a programme on BBC about the RNLI volunteers, on my goodness those people are certainly heroes.

    Evening all

I see just a few holding the fort.
Pleased we have heard from savvy.

I had a bit of a incident with a dog today.I was walking over the downs when a dog ran up to me.Jumped up an headbutted me on the cheek.
His owner asked if I was ok and said that the dog had never done that before.I said yes and started to walk away a blow me the dog did it again and knocked me right off my feet.
The owner tried to help me up.I said get hold of the dog and keep hold of it until I'm am out of sight.
    Shook me up a bit.

Thanks Sarahdol - can't quote as on my phone and it's a pain. Ds2 keeps nicking my lappy for roblox. He was playing out on his bike earlier, just on the front where I could see him and he came over in tears because all the other kids had gone to the park and he's not allowed. He's only 7 and has asd so no way can I let him go. Struggle to find the right words to explain.

On a lighter note, Brewster is home and tired out from his day with the dogsitter, he's flat out in his corner of the settee :)
