I thought you lot couldnt be trusted with booze sold under a certain price pe unit, or is it just special offers ?

The unit price has to be the same if you are buying 1 bottle/can or 100 bottles/cans but it only applies if the exact same product is being sold individually

eg a 4 pack of carling could be £4, a 12 pack could be £11 and a 15 pack could be £12 BUT if they sell the cans singly for £1 then the 4 pack has to be £4, the 12 pack has to be £12 and the 15 pack has to be £15. Although they could get around that by making the single cans 440mls and the multipacks 400mls so that the prices don't have to correlate

Not many people realise all that though and they just think there is a simple ban on any and all multibuys.

I presume the retailers are simply trying to go further than the law requires rather than skirt around the edges of it

Late catch up all done. I got back to sleep this morning till Berry reminded me at noon that that was his proper time for his food with meds in, so got up, fed them both, let them out into garden and when they came back in I went back to bed and straight to sleep. Lovely deep sleep until Berry said it's 8pm Mammy, time for more food please. So I got up than ;) I feel better after the sleep I've had but still taking extra meds as back and my knee are still hurting lots. Hope I can get up tomorrow for work at charity shop as if you remember, I slept through last week. My mate Steve will ring me at 11.30 am if I haven't messaged him by then :o

Thanks HG....I'm not always convinced about having energy to do things, sometimes it's just better to keep myself busy rather than to dwell too much on other issues.
I've felt myself slowly sinking back to a very dark place very gradually over perhaps the last 6 weeks or so....and its a place I dont want to be....therefore its time to start to put things in a better order.
My new role I think will help.it's doing what I'm good at but have not done since working days.Hopefully it wont take up too much time once things are licked into shape but in the interim 6 weeks or so I can see the challenge that awaits, and in a weird way I'm quite looking forward to the battle!

Oh LEJC, I know exactly how you feel. You want to drag yourself out of it, into a better place, but it is hard. At this time of year and also around anniversary of Alan's death (JUly) I know I go into this state. I shy away from contact with people. Yes I 'chat' to Steve, Andy and Kit, but only because they ring me and message me. If it was left to me, I would not be doing the ringing during this time. I am so glad they make the effort for me. I can talk myself out of lots of things I need to go out for, miss doctors appointments, etc, just to avoid real life

Kit was surprised that I went to the cinema yesterday, she thought I would back out. So I was really proud of myself for going, during this time. Oh if only life was easy :o

So would you say, at times like xmas when in England we have beer offers such as 2 cases for £20, in Scotland, would you get the same offer, just it would be a case reduced to £10? So really that would make it better as you would not have to buy the 2 cases if you didnt want 2. ? Or would they just not bother reducing it?

That's exactly what they do with beer. When you have 3 for £20 we have £6.67 each, when you have 2 for £20 we have £10 each

    Evening. :)

If anyone has been having problems with their computer hanging when browsing and they have Mcaffee installed reading this might help below.

    https://community.mcafee.com/thread/97481?start=0&tstart=0

    Post 36/37 has the fix.

DD2 has been having problems for a couple of weeks, only sorted by restarting and mine started playing up on Saturday.

Looks like it's connected to recent update. I've tried the fix this evening and looks good so far, in fact has made things all round go a bit faster. Was too late for DD2 to try it but this may be her problem too, she is going to look tomorrow evening. We thought it was her internet access again as she had a problem at the accommodation she had last term but think this time it could be related to same problem as me from the dates when people first started to get an issue. alternatively you could finally cash in those nectar points (albeit at face value )

edit: this won't help you but if anyone else is going anytime soon you can fill out a survey to get a free popcorn from the day after you complete the survey
