Have a look at My Supermarket and see if there are any special offers this weekend which you need. I also sometimes, oddly, find that their Atrixo hand cream and other such toiletries are cheaper than elsewhere. But I agree, it's an expensive supermarket and I can't quite understand why their fuel is usually the cheapest around me.
Fortunately for me the car is showing one bar of fuel. The warning light has come on but I have about 50 miles or so to go and I won't do anything like that before Friday. Thanks, everyone, for your comments about driving on 'empty' -- very reassuring, though my car manual says dire things about what happens if the tank gets empty so I usually err on the side of caution.
