I'm honestly bored of 90% of the food options around Covent Garden, so thought why not :rotfl:

We were there last weekend. Strange Starbucks they don't use proper mugs (don't clear the tables either) cracking manager at the travelodge;)

Next trip to London is on 21st few when dd does her stem cell donation.
It's only a quick mouth swab initially to go on prospective donor list. If you are on list 10 years still only 4%chance of a match which means they need alot more donors. All expenses are covered. Please anyone interested apply for a swab. Anthony Nolan will only put you on list if under 30 at the time but you can then stay on. DKMS accept a wider age group.

    https://www.dkms.org.uk/en/registration-to-donation for more information.

They deal with stem cell and bone marrow donors.

DD wanted to do it in memory of her grandad. We all have been touched by cancer and the more healthy people who sign up the more we can do to stop patients going through the long wait for a donor.

  • As I'm resigned to the idea that I'll be living with my mother for a long while (whilst I save up for a deposit/win the lottery/marry a millionaire), I'm moving into my brother's old room. So I'm upgrading from a small box room, single bed to a double bed. I have a budget of £200 though for a mattress and a frame. Not impossible but it's taking a lot of research. Considering my brother moved out 6 months ago, he still hasn't moved his bloody stuff out including his bed

Not an impossible task, although clearing your brothers room out might be.
When I was staying at a friends house a while back I slept on a new mattress which was an all foam one that came in a roll for about £80 I was very impressed with it. With a frame buy the sturdiest one your budget will allow you. Sprung slats add to the comfort of the mattress. Avoid ikea mattresses and wish for another tesco bed glitch.

Seriously frame go for sprung slats for comfort. There are some cracking deals at the moment.

Think it is going to take you a while to get the man cave emptied and more to your liking so you might save a bit more.

Fb selling groups are great for sturdy wooden second hand frames but I expect in your location there is tough competition for them.

  • I wouldn't buy one personally but it was comfy. DM my new mattress cost almost the equivalent of my holiday to Antigua but I have complex needs.
If I was pd I would scrape together another £100 as have far more options and better mattress choice.
Mattresses are a minefield to compare prices on as almost every sockets gives them different names took me months to choose. Only trouble with mine is too heavy for me to lift when changing bedlinen. I have to use a long handled shoe horn.

Right off to bed as have men attending my bedroom at stupid o'clock in the morning to put my new chest of drawers together.

I agree with that. Spend as much on the mattress as you can, a cheap bed is better than a cheap mattress

It looks like our spare bedroom.

Good morning, thank you for all the birthday wishes yesterday. I thinking had the best birthday ive ever had.
Next event is the baby shower three weeks tomorrow. I spotted some pink decorations in home and bargain so that's a start. I'm thinking lots of big pink florist bows tied to chairs etc.
If anyone has any ideas they would be gratefully received. Ive also ordered a photo booth pack, they always seem quite popular. Not forgetting my nappy cake and I'm having aproper two tier cake made. Lots of pink fizz too of course......well it is a girl :rotfl:
