Again. I don't know why this is a Savvy buy at "was £2 now £1".

I've just removed, earlier, a Paper Pet Bedding which is a small one and appears to be the same as this one, from my list - I had it at 70p which I thought was a bit expensive:rotfl:. This is the 90g product isn't it? It does look like one and the same to me. Probably those yellow labels with £1 on them drawing my attention to them when the £1 price, it seems, is a price increase!

I've also removed a pack of Kettle Descaler Tablets that I last had at 79p - I'm sure that I saw them in the pound shop:( part of the store I was in on Monday so, they appear to have been 79p (and were not commonplace I can tell you) but are now £1 as part of a much wider range that is collected together in one store as a pound shop. (I've only ever found this one store that has the whole section - presumably there are similar Ms in the country elsewhere - however, apart from that, normally I just get a random one from this range appearing in a single other store, completely random store, every several months.)

Actually, I do know why the Pet Bedding is marked as a "Savvy buy" although it is not one. (Mere markings and assertions that something is the case do not make it so.) It's because it's 30% or more lower than its average price during the period in which it has been online and captured by msm. However, that seems pretty meaningless to me, as it could have been instore at a cheaper price but gone up and only appeared online recently at the higher price. I do not know where the £2 price is coming from - as far as I see it, this was 70p and is now £1! Of course they could put it up to £2 and then back again. But what do I know?

It doesn't matter what they call "savvy buys" - I had one a few years ago, when Sains. appeared to have made a mistake, initially, on some Fairy washing powder. They had it at a very low £4 price - for the number of washes. Probably two days later, they must have spotted the price was probably wrong as went onto an offer of double the price! It was then, at £8, still marked as a savvy buy on msm because £8 was over 30% cheaper than normal:wall:. But, paying £8 for something that was £4 immediately before, however briefly, is not my idea of a "savvy" buy at all! I shall therefore buy them only if they are and avoid them if they are not!

    Using up wombles....v M

3x Felix Cat Pouches Fish Selection in Jelly (12X100) £7.50 £7.50
    1x McCain Lightly Spiced Wedges (750G) £1.00 £1.00
    1x Piccolo Apple & Apricot Pouch 6m+ (100GR) £1.10 N/A (SM £1.10)
    1x Whitworths Soft Apricots (140G) £1.60 £1.00 (SM 80p)
    1x Bounce Energy Ball Coconut & Macadamia Protein Bliss (40G) £1.50 N/A (SM £1.50)
    1x Giovanni Rana Chicken Mozzarella & Smoked Pancetta Ravioli (250G) £1.00 £1.00
    1x Jacob's Baked Cheddar Cheese Biscuits (150G) £0.50 £0.50
    1x Chicago Town 2 Mega Meaty Deep Dish Pizzas (320G) £1.00 £1.00

    3x ASDA Smartprice Cat Litter (10L) £4.65 £4.65
1x Felix Cat Pouches Mixed Selection in Jelly (12X100) £2.50 £2.50

What - they buy all of those four which are all on my list?!?:eek:

Plus the SP Cat Litter - although that's very slightly not SP any more as Tact Cat Litter at M works out slightly cheaper even after the 10% off on the SP version against M. However, again, M don't seem to me to want to make the Tact version available to a lot of people at all - I've only so far found it in one M and these best value products very often seem very restricted. If there's a version of something that's worse value, it will be at every store! The one that's actually best value, of whatever type of product, will seem confined to one store.

Just like the 1L Veg. Oil at M:rotfl: . You may have seen me remove that - in error:p - last week as it was at 72p at Rochdale M only (and £1.20 'everywhere else') - Rochdale's price apparently guaranteed until 2nd January. Well, it does seem that it was guaranteed to be that price and, even after the original expiry date, was still at 72p on Monday! But only at Rochdale as the only M that has it that I have found at that price. There's a number of other 'guaranteed' lines, although the original end date has now passed, at Rochdale - a couple of which are mentioned on the list. In addition, Quavers Cheese 6 pack is currently generally £1.50 in M - although it is 97p at Rochdale M, a fact that I will mention whenever Quavers generally goes back to £1:rotfl: (assuming it's still 97p at Rochdale as I can't keep visiting there regularly I'm afraid).

The first time I used Rochdale as my main base store and got the 72p price for the Veg. Oil and the 97p prices on the other items as I thought the price had changed. I didn't buy the Veg. Oil that time, hoping instead later to do an APG comp. for 10% off - I then went onto the other stores and found Veg. Oil at standard price:( in all of them and eventually scanned it at one and found it was regular price there:(. So, no evidence of any 72p price on Veg. Oil and it will not work on the APG as sadly they use other stores and do not confine themselves to Rochdale.

This time I visited Rochdale as one of my six stores, after the previous 'guaranteed' period was now over - mainly in order to see the pound shop again to make sure the same items that I have on the list - that I have in no other M at all - were still the same price several months later - but I also found the Veg. Oil was still 72p, as far as I know only at this M. Does anyone have any non-Rochdale M with 72p 1L veg. oil? Or anything else at prices that are not the general prices in M - if so, could you reveal what you have, where, and at what price - TIA? I bought my Veg. Oil therefore - we did need some - at Rochdale (having shelled out full A price six months ago:( as that was the cheapest I could get anywhere near me) but as usual I am now wondering whether I bought nearly enough (BB date December 2017 - maybe should have bought a bit more?).
