Is it just me who gets annoyed by the adverts for collectible magazines at this time of year? £1.99p for the first, £9.99 for the other 129 issues to build a model .

    Who has that much patience?

And surely if you want a model of a De Loreon or R2-D2 it would cheaper to buy a really good model now and have all the pieces to make it?

:rotfl: Think I have just seen the same advert as you.
 How much for the full model, presuming you dont break a part over the next 2-3 years that it takes to build it.

Probably the person who has Asperger's if it's their special interest:rotfl:. However, it's not the special interest of mine (at this part of my life) so I currently have no patience for it whatsoever:rotfl::cool:.

EDIT: Obviously they want to get people with a "cheap" price for the first issue and then the price after that is expensive! I've definitely no patience for that:rotfl::rotfl:. Though I did buy (this is decades ago:cool:) the first issue of a World Map or animals-type collection (can't remember exactly what) but I must have just lost patience after that as I didn't buy any further issues - or I very soon missed one out and then there was no point trying to continue as the collection would never be complete. There's always one month (or whatever) that you miss out or forget to buy and then the whole collection is lost. Only for people that are very organised:rotfl:.

EDIT 2: The adverts do work - that's what got me started on that attempt at collection all those years ago. Like you suggested though, I soon gave up/lost patience as I missed an issue out. They even had a "free" binder with the first issue that, of course, worked a treat for the advertisers as it got me buying the magazines - very clever just to provide, in effect, a few pages each month (of a magazine), to put into a binder, when the whole lot could in theory have been published and been provided all at once - but of course would have been more costly for them as they couldn't charge a lot for each section each month which was obviously, unsurprisingly, the route they took.

    Goodnight folks:wave:.

Hiya Elite, just touching base. I'm still down in Hampshire. Been out for a lovely meal tonight with my friends K/S/A at the new Zizzi in Southamption West Quay South. Can't remember who I have to thank for the voucher code for Qkr app but my 3 course meal offer £15.95 and diet coke £2.65 ended up costing me £3.60 so well pleased with that. Steve and Andy had both done the app though for some reason Steve's app wouldn't accept referral code, so they had £15 and £10 respectively. I didn't get Kit's phone loaded before expiry date for code, but at least I did referral on her app so she had £5 off her bill. So easy to see how much you are spending and to split the bill. Highly recommened - Zizzi and the Qkr app :j

    Just buzzing by....bzzzz, bzzzz,

to mention the Village room sale...but you need to make a booking by midnight tonight:)

    £25 a room

    https://www.village-hotels.co.uk/offers/accomodation/january-sale/?gclid=CJ2ssqSJrdECFc8YGwodl90HNg

We got 2 rooms for 2 nights booked the other day, in Solihull for GFS in November with breakfast both days for £120, well pleased. We did this last year (though rooms were £20 then, but breakfasts not on offer I don't think) for the GFS in June and loved it. so much better than our usual B'ham Airport Travelodge ;)

Sarah, sorry to hear your OH has to have further ops. Good luck with it

    Ditzy - hope Mam imporoving

Snap - all I can say is OUCH and what a silly snap you are

Off to bed now as just driven back from Lymington to Purbrook with rain chucking it down, spray terrible, so good night good folk

Check any ebay emails - I had one yesterday giving me £20 off a £25 spend! Glad I didn't buy the taps I wanted.

What is going on with farmfoods - since to have missed it somewhere - thank u.

    Thanks matty17r

I signed the missus up to ebay ages ago to get nectar points for registering her nectar card and she has this offer on her account :j

Even better there is something we genuinely need to buy for £25 and a few pennies

Bonus nectar points from S just went on to both our accounts. This was the "swipe x times and get double/bonus points" offer that ended on 7/12

The points were due a few days ago but what with xmas/NY i thought i'd give them a few days before doing an mhoc
