Direct Debits are set up by the company (with your permission) to take the money out of your account.

And they have a savings account of 5% then

From my experience, prepare yourself for hassle and you will earn the £150 (yet to be received!). I signed up in summer 2015 - heard nothing, then in early 2016 I complained and received compensation equivalent to the switching bonus
.
I signed up again online at the end of October, application process stalled on the third stage online saying they would be in touch. Over 2 weeks later, they wrote saying they had received my application and needed me to go into a branch with proof of ID (why, when they would have run a credit search ... and would have spotted the FD mortgage and account, and M&S account, I do not know ). I had to go to branch twice - because they didn't accept a print out of an online utility bill (even though I have few paper based communication any more!),
Three weeks after going into branch, I received a letter saying I had been accepted. A few weeks after that, a card came through. A week after that, the welcome pack. My account finally switched between Christmas and New Year and the regular saver set up.
I have earned this switch bonus more than any other - assuming it pays out!
Contrast this with BoS - signed up on Sunday, appeared online instantly, card arrived Thursday, pin Friday - similar experience with all other banks.
To get the £50 bonus in 12 months I understand you have to use the switching service bringing in at least 2 DD, activate online banking/the app within 60 days of account opening and pay in at least £1750 per month/£10,500 every 6 months (I have SO now set up to transfer £1750 in and £1500 out - £250 remaining funding the regular saver).
This one is not for the feint hearted - Mrs Anon was rejected
, so they have some form of higher level requirements on their credit scoring than any other accounts we have applied for (we were both accepted for MandS and all other accounts applied for without issue).

I'm wondering if it worth transferring the £1750 in/out monthly via 2 DD to get the additional £50
T Savings Account (Internet Saver and Instant Access - both managed online) are very handy for setting up additional DDs.

Where can you get Atkins bars for £1 pls and thanksOur Spa had the cracker type choc button and monstrel packs half price for 50p each with 2 packs inside - still seemed very expensive
Went into town as surprisingly the o2 lunch offer was on despite the bank holiday and our small market town now has a Dominos - yes most peculiar - so we tried the £1 pizza - you get a little 7 inch pizza with 4 slices - warming on cold afternoons like this - a bit tasteless though, think I would take my dried mixed herb tub next time - a change though from the Boots sandwiches
Also went to Superdrug again for the Atkins bars and I found the household section - I thought our store was too small to have one as I could not find it last time - so I got packs of microfibre cloths for 10p, scourers for 10p, sealable food bags for 10p, dye catchers for 15p (20 in a box) and large washing up gloves for 10p - very happy with these
nothing if any note in our Marks or Morrisons
COS - Atkins bars accepted straight off -10 free bars

I didn't know that! Thank you. I remove decs but keep one of my cribs up until Candlemas. I think it's a Church of England thing as the C of E celebrates Epiphany time from 6 January to Candlemas.0 -
