Had a wedding at work a few days ago ,who was my bosses friend . and she treated her as badly as the rest of us wanted to make as much money out if her as possible. Which has lead me to make the decision to look for a new job.
I am overworked, under paid and under appreciated, I would be better of working at asdawill not quit yet just start to look. See what is around. .xx
I too have spent Xmas considering my position at work. I am self employed and usually give my boss my invoice on last day of the month. He used to pay me same day but last couple of months its been anything from 6-10 days late. I finished work on 23rd and took all last week off. I gave him my invoice when I gave him the monthly salaries ( which he pays weekly and then makes a balancing payment at end of the month). I thought he would pay me before he took his own week off but when it hadnt arrived by the 30th I had to borrow money from my sister to pay the mortgage. Then this morning the money arrived in my account.
I have been working for him since May 2014 and as I was inexperienced in Sage when I started we agreed on £11.50 an hour. The 2 people previous to me were on £12.50 per hour employed and I was thinking of telling him I am putting my rate up to £13.50 per hour.
I have spent 2.5 years sorting the mess the other lady left and feel I have done a good job. The job is complicated as he is not completely straightforward with vat and tax so it makes it difficult for me. I have seen another job advertised locally that although is temporary would suit my hours. He never thanks anyone at work for anything any of us do either.
Sorry for the rant0 -
Rose & Rhosy - you are both worth so much more. Good luck with the job search.“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0
